Also, I love the use of negative space in this piece. The whole thing is detailed and beautiful.

i put down a layer of light washed out gouache then dry brushed the little lines over with thick gouache and a tiny brush. It's a great paint for getting little line details, it's more like a drawing medium than a paint.

Your birds are always so cool. I'm not sure why, but I kinda like working on butcher paper and stuff just tends to look cool on it.
