Krossus is neatly disguised as a pitch-black scythe, or a household key when not in use. Upon calling his name, dark smoke disperses and Krossus is summoned.
Riyu has close to zero proficiency with the scythe and uses it as a staff, or to scare away enemies. He has a better chance at killing someone from hitting them too hard with Klara Libras, than killing them with the scythe's sharp blade.「 sub. weapon · klara libras 」Mainly a spellbook, Klara Libras is under the category of a grimoire. The book mainly consists of theories of space, and spells relating to space (suns, star, moon, planets, etc). But there are some pages in which the spell do not relate to space, i.e, command. Unlike other spellbooks, it starts off completely empty, subtly showing texts once Riyu becomes stronger.

"Krossus..."

Krossus is agile, and fast, showing great proficiency in speed, and efficiency in killing, but he slowly drains Riyu of his energy. If he is out for more than (30) minutes, Riyu will faint, anything below that will just cause severe headaches and nausea. Krossus will also naturally grow stronger as Riyu levels up, and the duration will also extend as Riyu levels up.

Riyu can command both, inanimate and animate (alive) things. For now he can only command small things like pets, or brooms to do the sweeping for around (30 min.). If he tries to command anything larger than a chair, he could faint on the spot or after a few seconds, if he tries to command more than (1) object at a time, he may feel dizzy, or faint after a while.

"Quadrantids... Lyrids... Eta Aquarids... Perseids... Orionids... Leonids... Geminids..."

Small flashes of light beam down, and disappear rapidly, similar to a disco effect. If Riyu is left unscathed for the whole duration of the process, pillars of pure energy will rain down in the exact spots that the beams of light were located.

The amount of pillars that shoot down is equal to the amount of stars visible by an average human's naked eye, if they only looked up and there were nothing blocking them to see the sky. The current cap is (8), increasing by 3 beams for each time he levels up. The beams only target those who he truly deems as enemies, so if he completely hates someone but doesn't want them to get hurt, they may just be targeted for one or more of the beams. Same goes with allies who have become enemies. The spell is weakened by 50% if Riyu can see a sun, or if he cannot see a moon. The damage is increased by 50% if a full moon is present in the sky, or if he can see stars. (he does not need to be able to see the full moon)

NOTE: Until he reaches the dungeon's level 2, the skill will always be doing 50% damage since he cannot see the sky.
p e r s o n a l i t y「 motherly · caring · calm · studious · apathetic · obstinate · aggressive · fake 」Riyu is calm, and is almost never startled. His motherly, caring nature, makes many mistaken him for a great person, when in reality, he is both apathetic, and ignorant, not wanting to know, or care about a thing if it doesn't affect him. When something does affect him, he'll act fake, and put on a facade to trick the person into thinking he's actually very caring, cute, and lovable in order to get his way with something.
In his spare time, he'll study, and try to learn about enemy habits, mainly monsters located in the dungeon which he writes down in Klara Libras for future uses.

b i o g r a p h y「 summary 」Riyu, who's real name is Verna, was raised as a girl so people wouldn't play roughly with him, as he was very fragile, and would often get sick, having gone to the hospital countless of times, and many times was his life in danger.

As they became seriously poor, his parents sold their bakery, and house, to continue his school fees, and moved to the City of Opportunity, in hopes of his dad finding money to support the family. Only after a few weeks of entering the dungeon, his father died, and shortly after, he was found out about him actually being a boy, not a girl. He was constantly bullied, harassed, and fell into a state of depression, where the only thing he wanted to do was learn magic. His mother so against it, fainted, and shortly fell sick and died.

He met Familia leader; Aether, while in the dungeon's training dungeon where he handed him a note, asking him if he wanted to join the Familia after a very long conversation with the boy.
「 part 1 · enjoyment 」Being a child of two competitive, and strong adventurers, many thoughts that their child would be strong, tough, and adventurous just like them, but it was quite the opposite. Riyu, formerly known as Verna, was fragile, small, and quite light-weight, both parents were extremely worried, the amount of trips in and out of the hospital were countless, and this was only in his first year of life. In hopes of others being more gentle to him, they decided it was best to raise him up as a female and allow him to discover his true identity by himself. They stopped their job as an adventurer and migrated to the City of Repose, where they opened a bakery and would have a more traditional life.

Riyu, despite his complicated arrival with many trips to the hospital, and almost losing his life after what was thought to be a failed heart operation, he lived a very happy life, his parents were extremely supportive of his every decision so far, so were the children and the elders of the village, whom were very reserved, and strict. Even as a child, Riyu loved to learn, and absolutely loved books and would usually create a fortress of books to hide in and just read all day long, sometimes his parents would see him running to the library during school hours, which despite made them angry, made them very happy that he enjoyed books so much. A golden student, despite the amount of times he had ditched class just to read a book he couldn't finish, his teachers were very happy to have him in their class, he passed school with outstanding grades... but that was all soon to end.
「 part 2 · challenges 」Riyu finished primary school (elementary school), but the village had very limited education for the children living in the place, and with their business failing, his parents had little ways to pay off his school fees if he wanted to further continue his education despite it not being needed in today's society. Better than becoming an adventurer, his parents sold their bakery, and moved to the City of Opportunity where his dad would once again enter the dungeon, hunting for riches to improve his family's current economical state. No friends, and little connections, his school life was dangerous for someone in a situation like him. As he entered secondary school (year 7 - 12), he soon learnt about the hardships of school, being a former prodigy meant nothing, there were just as many people like him located all over the school, and with some even smarter. To become the top student, it was much harder than it looked like in primary school.

Many hours were spent into studying, and his connection with books loosened, there was a point in time where he tried so hard, that he had completely forgotten about them for almost half a year. Despite getting the highest grades possible without even trying, it wasn't enough to make him enter the school's top 10 ladder for his year level. Depressed, Riyu ditched school for a whole year without his parents finding out, but it was in that following year that everything piling up had caused a mental breakdown.

Now a Year 10, there were many difficulties and occupations to choose from, he now needed to choose which path he would take in the future. One day during class, Riyu was suddenly picked up by his mother who was obviously crying, thinking it was his father raging at her again, he kept talking about her, only to make her cry even more. As they reached the front door, his mother's mouth bursted open, she couldn't take it anymore, everything was too real for her not to believe. "Your father is dead! He's gone...". All Riyu could do was stand their in dismay, his feelings distorted and new emotions arrived, mainly stress, anxiety, and paranoia, but an old one returned... depression. Every night after that, it was as if a ghost whispered into his ear telling him to take a knife and just end his life.
「 part 3 · revival 」Almost reaching the end of Year 10, Riyu had finally hit his growth spurt and entered the stage of puberty, and unlike many others who developed over a course of a year, Riyu was growing rapidly and everything was changing simultaneously. While in the toilets, Riyu needed to pee, but his 'equipment' needed to pee wasn't allowing him to sit down, always hitting the edge of the bowl, thinking of a smart plan, he decided to stand up, but the moment it (the pee) hit the toilet water, all the girls started to scream, others rushing to the principal (headmaster) to call for security. As Riyu walked out of the toilets, he was stopped by two security guards who took him into the nurses' infirmary. There they did a full inspection, only in a matter of moments, and stripping him of course, they realized what the problem was, they asked him a few questions regarding about his sexual identity, sex, and gender, many of which he did not know the answer to as he was excused from many sexual education classes, and all of the classes explaining about the human body,

The remainder of the year, Riyu was constantly bullied, and repeatedly harassed, there was a point where he would be bashed and attacked for no reason, ripping up the books in his bag. No longer able to handle the stress, he tried to relieve it by cutting his own hair, and dressing up as a boy, but nothing seemed to work. Tired, stressed, and full of bottled up rage, Riyu told his mother that he was going to learn magic, and it wasn't going to be for defensive purposes. Despite being absolute about him not learning any magic, and that he would not receive the blessing of the gods without her permission, he would still run to the library, and read all the books under the genre of; 'Magic' against his mothers will.

No matter how many books he read, or how long he studied, he was unable to learn any magic. Depressed, and outraged, at the fact that he was a son of two strong adventurers, but yet he could not learn a single ability. In that moment, his mentality had shattered, he slammed the table, breaking its legs, he felt relieved. But he had unknowingly activated a taboo ability from the book he was currently reading, he felt excruciating, unable to stand and fell to his knees, and then-- everything was black. As he woke up, he found that he could no longer 'feel' his shadow, and instead, a scythe was in its place. As soon as his mother had learnt that he was able to control magic, without the need of a god's true blessing, she fainted, and over time, had developed an incurable, deadly disease that would kill her, as it was extremely infectious, he wasn't even allowed to see her, only allowed to talk through an enclosed screen.
「 part 4 · present 」Year 10 had come to an end, and so did his mother's life. Wanting to continue her dream of becoming a Cook Instructor, he took on many cooking classes, and even decided to work in a restaurant as a part-time worker, where he would clean dishes, but at least he learnt his way around the kitchen. When he isn't working, Riyu is either in the dungeon training, or found at a school being a Teacher's Assistant to learn the nature of children, and the environment of a classroom. The first book he had animated; Klara Libras was shortly stolen by him, and had been on him ever since.

While in the Training Dungeon Animating rocks and other inanimate objects to help him fight off the monsters, he had come across a rather familiar looking man, interested, he decided to start a conversation with him in hopes of finding out who he was. The man didn't talk as much, while Riyu for the first time, was blabbering on about his life, pretty much telling him every little detail about himself, and about his past unknowingly. After a while, the man decided to cut him in his moment, and asked him a rather sudden question. "Would you like to join a Familia?

Confused, but still understanding what the man was saying, he replied, "Yeah, why not? I think it would be fun..."
As the man was about to leave right after asking him the question, he handed him a note with a single word in it.

"Aether"

That was when his mind clicked, he realized... the reason why he looked so familiar...
