**sorry, another random update XD this picture was also easy to take. now its been properly watermarked and such. also easier to view, somehow i didnt know it was that huge XD anyway, sorry if this is in ur devwatch again!this is a portrait of this was posted on his stock account a while ago. the picture isn't posted anymore, so sorry, i can't link it.
if ur gonna comment here and all ur gonna say is 'oh hes hot' or somethin like that, dont even bother commenting. i say advanced critique encouraged cuz i want real comments, menaing on the drawing, not just the subject. i didnt just draw him cuz hes uber hot or somethin, the picture looked challenging.
oh, and i didnt include the border agin cuz it wouldnt fit in my scanner, lol. that top part u see is part of the burning i did. i might try and scan on the school's scanner cuz its bigger

Theres not alot to critizise on your technique, you've got your drawing lookin near photographic so not much to say about that. the only thing i could say is try to explore different art styles, try something really experimental or a classic style that goes away the idea of techniqual perfection. try something like pointilism, cubism or work on way to capture new ideas in an orignal way. would really like to see what you can do in other art formats so to speak. great stuff, look forward to seeing what you can do

thank you for your detailed comment! i really appreciate it. this was actually an older work, about 3 years now, that i had updated. since i have explored many different techniques in school, but i would love to try your suggestions. especially cubism, one of my favorites! thanks very much for the help!

thats cool, your welcome. I preffer to give a proper opinion with suggestion, gets alittle annoying when your trying to find out flaws in your technique and ideas and all people say is 'your works great'. I'ld like to see some of your cubism stuff, been working with that style recently, would be cool to see how u use it.

yes, i definitely prefer the comments with a bit of thought put into them! its much appreciated. i havent tried cubism as of yet, well i have but not successfully XD it takes me a while to wrap my mind around abstract ideas ^_^ but maybe in the near future!

The combination of darks in both his hair (which is beautifully swooshy) and the folds of his sleeve are amazing! I'll admit - when I first saw the thumbnail, I thought it was just a black and white photo. Great job, as always.

the tone values and symmetry of the features turned out really well, this is quite good. Perhaps a little more variation in the face tones, but besides that, very nice. Hair is very cool.

I love all of the detail you include, especially on his shirt, it really adds to the over all quality of this! I think you did an amazing job, especially with the teeth, I always have such a hard time with teeth. Keep up the great work!

The texture of the shirt is especially excellent, and you've really managed to realistically convey the motion of the fabric and how it's bending in some places. really excellent render there

Great job on the texture of his shirt! The whole thing looks very good. If you want his facial features to really pop though, try outlining the areas where the shading is darker first with a sharp, thin line and then shading up from there. For example, the bottom of his top lip has sort of a fuzzy, subtle shading to it. You could do a dark line on the bottom and then shade evenly up to a little below the middle of his lip. It would give a different effect, so I dunno if you'd want to do that or if you meant the shading to be light. Either way it looks fine.

Wow traditional art, from YOU? xP How many years has is been lady?
Ok ok, advanced critique right? The only thing that sort of irritates my eye is the roughness of the shirt. I feel that it needs to be more refined, so that my eye flows over the ripples in the shirt. Also, this photo has been done by many people, and you should maybe try and find a way of making it your own. Taking a bit of artistic license here and there. Hope this helps!

haha, well thank you for the critique! this is actually from about 3 years ago XD i updated the picture because it was so large, sometimes it shows up in people's deviantwatches again. i think it definitely did this time haha. although i did just submit a pencil work about 3 months ago...
anyway, thanks muchly! i think the roughness of his shirt is mostly due to the scan, i didnt do a lot of blending on it either, so its a lot of pencil texture, but i agree, too rough. it kind of annoys me too XD as for originality, i DID burn the picture, but it didnt fit in my scanner XD and i kind of wasnt very creative with my portraits back then i know lol.

You did a really good job. This is just a suggestion, but maybe you could make his eye green, like in the original picture? I think it was green anyway? I dunno.. it would make it pop out a lot more. I like it the way it is too, so two versions? Or shoot the Kaizer for suggesting it?
