In situations where one of the couple is immortal or just much older than the other, I think it shouldn't be a big deal as long as BOTH parties are legally adult age.

They never make it clear in the show, but it's my headcanon that the Mane 6 are in their early twenties. Rarity owns her own business. Twilight acts like a college graduate. And Fluttershy,Β Rainbow Dash, and Rarity all live alone in their house. (pets not counting) How many 16 year olds have their own house?
