Description Was watching the original TMNT movie (the one Jim Henson worked on) and I noticed that Splinter seems to have a fondness for Casey. Even though Danny had been the one coming to Splinter for a week or more to talk to him and had the time to become close to him, the one Splinter asks for by name for assistance to stand is Casey, and when Casey is helping to unchain Splinter from the wall the two of them have this moment where they are looking at each other in silence and it's almost like they recognize each other, or something about each other. There were one or two more instances, but those two moments made me come up with this.

I like to think that Splinter eventually took Casey under his wing and taught him apart from his sons, perhaps he saw something of Raphael in Casey that night and wanted to make sure that a good heart was not destroyed by their own inner conflict.

All of this is drawn in ball-point pen.

Splinter and Casey Jones belong to Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird

Casey Jones would lose that wild edge he had in the film and Ninjutsu doesn't suit his character. Someone like Rocky Balboa's trainer Mickey Goldmill would be better. Sorry but Splinter's training is not for everyone.

Amazing job.
Congratulations.
I love Casey too. He is a great warrior and a good friend and he really helps the turtles. I think Splinter should teach to Casey, so he would be more helpful.

Also love the old movies! Awesome job with ball point pen! It looks like it belongs in the comics! I tend to be too anal about my drawings and tend to feel the need to erase. But you did awesome!

Thank you very much!

I'm the same way with being anal as I draw, but it's odd that with pen or markers I feel like I have more freedom and I loosen up more than I would with pencil and eraser. I think it's because I know I can't go back with pen, and any mistake I make I either leave it as is or I figure out a way to make it work - it's like working without a safety net and that's probably why I relax more. Odd, right?

That is odd, I'm opposite and tense up so much I have to take many many breaks even with just inking a sketch!

Oh god, same! That's partly why I go on youtube and listen to hour-long movie reviews so I feel more settled and less fidgety - that is until I recall that I'm on the internet and Tumblr may have updated in the past five minutes so I'd better go check and get back to the drawing later XD

sigh~ My escape is MLP or anything super cute. Especially after a scary movie has become a habit...

Lol! I recall watching the second half of the first episode of MLP with my friends and they were laughing so hard at my expression, saying it was a mixture of amusement and horror. They told me later that they took turns trying to imitate my expression XD

Oo! Love me some horror!

Close enough XD
I really enjoyed the first season (save for one episode) but then the second season all the characters just became...mean. Every character had their episode where they were just mean and nasty and their faults came shinning through to a point where it was uncomfortable for me to watch, Pinkey-Pie especially, my god she shocked me something aweful. The only characters I ended up still liking by the end were Fluttershy and Rarity (honestly I'm surprised that Rarity is my favorite at all, I usually don't go for characters like her)
But maybe I need to continue watching rather than just give up on it. What season is it on? Did I give up too soon?

So you've actually watched it? And I see what you mean, it was on purpose to show their faults and how they triumph over their shortcomings. It's called character development while still providing those little life lessons that helps people feel better about themselves at the end of the day.

Season five is coming out this year.   Not that I'm counting the days or anything...

Pretty sad I comment on your awesome picture for TMNT and we both give our opinions on MLP...lol. and I'm sorry. Didn't mean to take away from the awesomeness that I think deserves to be in the original comics. Our minds just seemed to bunny-hop!

Ah nah! I'm totally fine with chatting about other topics in these replies; how else are you supposed to meet people on sites like this?

Now I'm going to go on a bit of a rant here, but I want you to keep in mind that I did like the show as a whole and was the one groaning impatiently because I had to wait for all my roommates to have a night off before I could watch any of the episodes so we could all watch them together.
I know that it was character development, but the subtlety was very lacking. I've watched animated shows in marathons before and this was the first one that felt like it was screaming the character's flaws at me. I was able to figure out their flaws in the first season, so was it really necessary for Pinky Pie to set fire to the poor old donkey's memory book to get across that she's too nosy and greedy for her own good? Was it really needed for all those animals to be pushed around and hurt during the race and the tortoise verbally abused to come to the conclusion that Rainbow Dash is too full of herself and too quick to judge? It felt like I wasn't to be trusted to figure out the character's personality on my own, and they didn't really change at all during that season after the lessons they learned: by the end of the season Pinky Pie was still too nosy and greedy, and Rainbow Dash was just as arrogant as ever, but maybe they've changed since then - that's kinda why I want to start watching again.

And I'm not trying to be mean or anything or put the show down, I'm just trying to explain the problems I had with it. Like I said, Rarity and Fluttershy struck a chord with me, I think this is the season we see just how generous and how hard a worker Rarity is, and Fluttershy is always the voice of gentle reason and care, and even though I think they overdid it a little, it was nice to see her standing up for herself.

Goddamn, I have a lot of catching up to do!

Ok great! I think that too, though I get the suspicious shifty eyed glance when I write a note to someone asking questions about themselves, though I understand that they want to be internet safe too.

And yeah, I did notice that, especially on those two episodes too. I just thought it goes to show that even though they might have learned a lesson they are still too young (or immature) to actually make that change so they continue to be clumsy in their social interactions. The episode about Pinkie Pie that you mentioned actually annoyed me. But the one called 'Too Many Pinkies' where Pinkie Pie clones herself had a sweet ending, where she did the one thing Pinkie was told she could never do just to be able to stay with her friends and not cause them anymore trouble. And her back story is actually really harsh how her family treats her, other than her sister Maude who cracks me up more than Pinkie Pie! Rainbow Dash is shown to take particular protective care of Tank after he becomes her pet, though I did feel bad for the hawk too who did everything cool that she had said she wanted only to be rejected too. That one taught me a few lessons, what you want may not be what you need, and helping a friend in need is what really matters more than being cool. Which is reiterated again when Dash's old friend from the academy, a Griffon, comes to town and is a bully to the others behind Dash's back and she actually stops being the Griffon's friend, which should have ended in the griffon learning a lesson too and they all be friends together but instead flies off with a threat...And FlutterShy did overdo it a bit in the episode you are meaning but she is the best one to exemplify learning from your mistakes and to continue to be yourself along with Twilight. FlutterShy learning to be a bit more strong really teaches her to become a better babysitter and caregiver to both her animals and the little sisters, Cutie Mark Crusaders. Rarity learns very well and becomes a more well rounded lady so I can understand whole heartedly why you like her, she becomes a good role model for the Cutie Mark Crusaders.

And yes, you have lots to catch up on it seems. Later seasons tend to tear the Mane Six apart from each other, showing that even though it's hard true friendships will always stay no matter how far apart they grow. Which I don't like, but it shows them growing up.
