The Rothana Heavy Engineering Imperator-II Star Destroyers Basilisk and Chimaera. Updated to include background information for Supreme Commander Daala and the Basilisk.Artwork by Adam Kopala adamkop.deviantart.com
Bold, loyal, and aggressive, Natasi Daala caught the eye of Advisor Tarkin near the end of the Republic-Confederate Conflict. Ever driven to produce results, and often without second thoughts or misgivings from her peers, Tarkin placed her in charge of both the production and security of the construction of the first Absolute-class dreadnaught in orbit over Fondor. The mighty vessel was completed at a pace considered “break-neck” compared to past Confederate projects, and well under budget, which would earn even further accolades from Tarkin.
By the time of the Dominion’ establishment and Tarkin’s ascension to Executor, further promotions eventually placed Natasi in the command chair of her own vessel, the Imperator-II-class star destroyer Basilisk, and later as the commanding officer of a four-ship taskforce charged with harassing Republic shipping. Jealousy and disdain from some of the more traditional male officers grew as her star rose within the Navy, and rumors began to circulate about Daala and Tarkin being romantically-involved. However no one, not even in the Inner Circle, dared let those words slip within their earshot, knowing Tarkin’s penchant for ruthlessness.
Even with her loyalty and devotion to Tarkin’s vision for order in the galaxy, Daala could not prevent his death at Endor, despite her presence at the climactic battle. Instead, she took charge of the remaining vessels of the Terror Fleet and retreated to Eriadu, where she had hoped to prevent the collapse of the Galactic Dominion into infighting. In five years however, her faction of the Dominion were all that remained after the civil war and loss of territory to the reinvigorated Great Galactic Republic, a mere fifth of its former size. To Supreme Commander Daala, the Dominion was on the verge of losing the war altogether… until Thrawn’s return from the Unknown Regions with a mighty fleet of his own. She despised Thrawn for what she viewed as his abandonment of the Dominion, but had long desired vengeance against the Republic for the death of her mentor. Perhaps an alliance would be what was needed to bring both the Republic and the Jedi to their knees…
The Basilisk, already a formidable warship in its own right, was refitted with two gravity well projectors, lessons Daala learned from years of raiding Republic cargo vessels via hyperspace interdiction tactics.

Spurned by the Dominion’s inner circle of “New Order” proponents and summarily-dismissed by Tarkin himself due to his criticism of the Conquest Through Fear doctrine and the Ultimate Weapon project, Supreme Commander Thrawn withdrew into Unknown Regions with his forces, focusing his efforts on charting the region and establishing his own Empire of the Hand. With Tarkin’s overreliance on superweapons and Darth Maul’s presence, Thrawn surmised that the Dominion would eventually fall to the Republic and the Jedi Order. And when it did, it would fragment into multiple feuding territories ran by petty warlords and inept former officers.
With no intention of defecting to what he saw as a weak, ineffective galactic government, Thrawn chose his own path, binding his time while he strengthened his own Army and Navy, all the while paying lip service to the Dominion and contributing raw materials (a sizeable amount of what was mined, to conceal the remainder that was utilized in his own plans) to the war effort. By the time of the Battle of Endor, the destruction of the twin Death Stars, and Tarkin’s death, the Empire of the Hand was poised as its own galactic power, albeit a hidden one ever cautious about drawing unnecessary attention to itself.
Thrawn’s flagship was the Imperator-II-class star destroyer Chimaera, one of the first of its kind, yet saw little actual service in the Galactic Civil War. The pride of the Empire of the Hand, she was modified to operate a rare, fully-functional stygium crystal cloaking device, which gave Thrawn an immense tactical and strategic advantage when not only charting unknown space, but in keeping a wary eye over the rival Chiss Ascendency, the place of his birth which had exiled him long ago. Her deep blue hull-plating and sinister orange-red light echoed the cold, calculating nature of her commander, and struck terror in all those who met the vessel face to face.

Note: The Chimaera is equipped with a stygium crystal cloaking device. This device bestows a 3D+1 penalty to any Sensors roll made to detect it when activated. This penalty also reduces bonuses granted by Fire Control systems to a minimum of 0D. It takes 1D6 rounds to successfully activate the cloaking device, and due to the sheer power requirement, reduces its Shields code to 0D while in use.

Love this Imperial class star destroyer mark 2. why 96 fighters and so few weapons. The Resurgent class star destroyer /battlecruiser has well over 1,500-3,000 heavy weapons and more fighters advanced shielding faster than light drives armor and most likely stealth systems. But she is 2,915.84 meters long 1483.5 meters wide and 496.89 meters tall. I do not think is ship is as big or well armed do it it being over 1,000 meters short and form a eraly timeline. I think she looks wonderful as a star destroyer. She looks mean ugly has has a bad month and is not scared to kill. I love mythology. The names scream excellence.

No it makes about 0 sense, and goes against previously established canon. Stats like this are realistic for this ship's size. The Resurgent having more guns on it than the Executor even though its nowhere near its size makes absolutely 0 sense.

disney does not care about cannons the Executor has about 5,000 turbolaser ion cannon and laser batteries with maybe 1,500 projectile launcher batteries. so that is at least 11,500 weapons emplacement batteries. I think the resurgent has somethike like 300 heavy turbolaser batteries 300 heavy ion cannon batteries with 300 point defence laser batteries and 300 point defence missile launcher batteries

The stats I created are more in line with the traditional Star Wars d6 RPG fare than the material released by the newer Cross-Sections guides. Personally, I found the specifications on the Resurgent rather wanting, describing thousands of weapons emplacements without quantifying exactly what they had. The opposite problem exists for the New Republic Starfleet vessels, being vastly underpowered for their size and role, even for a demilitarized state.
Nonetheless, I'm glad you've enjoyed both of these ships.

yes but it makes sense the resurgent class has well over 3,000 heavy weapons emplacements. given that a 60 kilometer wide star dreadnought exists with tens of thousands of heavy weapons emplacements 2 tie wings is not enough i would love weapons power shield power hyperclass weapons numbers what times weapons models hyperdrive range more walkers tanks and TIE fighter type craft. and more new republic fighters capital ships tanks walkers and what about the AT-M6 mega caliber super heavy siege assault walker.and more shuttles and other small craft. more weapon types so maybe star based weapon focal and string based weapons black hole blitzer and blazer type weapons. and more advanced technologies like quantum teleportation

Adam explained that it's similar to the cloaking device in Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike. Given the massive size of a star destroyer, I surmise that it's both the cloak and the power generator.

Have you given much thought to what happens in the wake of Endor? Is there a Dominion Civil War, with Zsinj and Teradoc and the like?

A rough narrative for this exists in my head. Thrawn bides his time in the Unknown Regions for a while, Daala takes a surviving chunk of Tarkin's Terror Fleet and retreats to Eriadu, declaring herself Supreme Commander of the Dominion, while the Inner Circle conspires against Navy and Army Commands to seize power from Daala, erupting into a civil war whilst combating the Republic. By five years after Endor, all of the infighting reduces the former Dominion to one fifth of its original holdings with Daala barely in control of the remnants... until Thrawn returns with his forces to take down the reorganized Great Galactic Republic. In the process, he stumbles upon one of Palpatine's/Sidious' safehouses, guarded by none other than the clone of Obi-Wan Kenobi...

Okay I'm excited.
I really love this alternate, man, this is easily the most rich and fleshed-out SW AU I've found on this site. If you ever want to bounce ideas off someone, this is exactly the kind of thing I work on in my free time, and I'd be honored to help you put more of this together.

Improved Imperium II class Star Destroyers, one with stealth and the other with Grv Generators.
That is one evil combination, as the Chimera can sneak up to an enemy locked in the grav well of the Basilisk.
Are the TIEs on board the Chimera stelthed as well or do they lose that advantage once they left the hangar?

No, once the TIEs disembark from their hangars, they are exposed to enemy sensors and visually.

No TIE Phantoms on board either?
I know they were only very limited produced due to the scarcity of Stygium crystals, but it makes sense to at least carry a few on a stealth capship.
The description does not specify which TIE variants are carried.

The TIE Phantoms don't exist in Father and Son of the Suns. Not to say there aren't craft with cloaking devices in the Dominion and its future remnants, but they are exceedingly rare.
TIEs are compact enough where nearly any of them will fit in an Imperator-II, so I didn't feel the need to differentiate.

Less a space issue, more "tactical possibilities" thing.
Thus the question for TIE Variants.
