Holy HECK you guys – after twelve years of attending, I'm finally going to have a table at San Diego Comic-Con this year! You can find me in the Small Press area, towards the back of the hall, at table Q-15. I'll have the usual fare (prints, postcards, art books), and will hopefully have the time to do some on-site sketches while I'm there. Nothing remarkably new for sale this time around (work is insane, give me a break), but I'm psyched to be showing at a new con and to see all your fresh faces!

CHARACTER CREATION

The realm of creation has never been a more accessible thing. With the rise of self-publishing, e-books, webseries, webcomics, podcasting, and cosplay, how do you know where to start? This panel looks at how to create a character from scratch as well as how to create the back-story, personality, and design of that character. Panelists include Claire Hummel (Bioshock Infinite, artist), Sheyne Fleischer (League of S.T.E.A.M., editor), Andrew Fogel (League of S.T.E.A.M., director), and Glenn Freund (UC Berkeley) to discuss, things to look out for when creating a character, how your character can thrive, and the functionality and forum in your character.

Andrew Fogel (The League of S.T.E.A.M.), Brian Kesinger (Walking Your Octopus), Claire Hummel (Bioshock: Infinite), Yomi Ayeni (Clockwork Watch), and Glenn Freund (The League of S.T.E.A.M.) dissect and debate pop culture examples of literature, movies, TV, video games, comics, and more.
