"That's the new mare?!"

"Yup."

"Alfred, you told me she was, and I directly quote, 'of average height!' "

Alfred turned to face his brother. "Oh yeah, did I forget to mention? She's of average height for her breed."

Richard rubbed his eyes, biting out, "We did not need another horse! We still don't! First you bought that Akhal-Teke alongside the Welsh cross, then there was the Quarter Horse mix, then her son, then a Mustang that isn't even trained!!"

Al, showing wisdom for possibly the first time in his life, decided to say nothing of the other horses he'd been looking over in the past week or two. Instead, he watched how the Warlander mare was acting with Katie, one of the lessons. She'll make a good mum, and she'll be perfect with kids.

"Look, Rich--"

"Shut up. She... she can stay," the older brother allowed, "But if I see one more new horse around the barn in the next month, I'm firing you."

"I'm your brother! And I co-own the barn, you can't just fire me!"

"Watch me."

Alfred's been getting a little horse-happy lately. If you recall, I stated that I was working on a picture of about half a dozen horses. They're already bought and paid for, they just need drawn. Currently, their picture is done, but I want to get all of their profiles in line before I post the picture.

However, I'm trying to post on a regular basis (sort of), and that's where this mare comes in. Fun fact... she's very motherly towards any less dominant animals or people, sometimes to the point of pushiness. She's also quite vain, hence the title. And she IS of average height; Richard is just shorter than Alfred. The mare is 16.1 hh.

I'll likely post her profile in the next couple of days, in between study sessions for finals.
