Description
This is an anime/movie/Sy style Astro. Anime cuz of the hair, movie cuz of... .well, everything else, and Sy style because Astro doesn't have glass eyes except for when I give 'em to him. Of course his shirt is coming off, as every Astro Boy/Atom fan knows that he always loses his clothes in every major battle! But I did it cuz I wanted to show his core/atom/whatever the device is in whatever version of the Astro series you're familiar with. ^_^ Yes, I made the core look like a heart. Astro has always had a big heart, and what can I say, I'm a sucker for the wholesome family look. XDAstro Boy (c) Tezuka. This art is by me, of course. ^_^ I'm a vintage Astro fan! X3

I think it's cool that we show enthusiasm for each other's work. The Japanese worked with Disney to get Kingdom Hearts, and actually Imagi, a Chinese studio, did Astro Boy. Imagi does a lot of anime and CGI movies, and they tend to favor revamping classics for a modern western audience. Kinda neat because younger audiences who are blind to other cultures get a fun taste of what other cultures have to offer. But I digress. Thanks bunches!

Good fanart here. <3 Even though I love/hate the movie. I <3 Astro Boy as an anime and manga series, but the movie drove me nuts. I was like "WTF" when Toby didn't die in a car accident, "WTF" when I saw how chubby Hamegg had gotten, "WTF" when Tenma didn't lose his sanity and "WTF" about Cora. Best thing in the American version of the movie was how cute Astro still was. I saw a screenshot from the one that played in China and it wasn't from out version of the film. It was a scene where Astro was befriending a whole colony of robots who were hiding out- he had just saved them from something. I DID like that a whole lot. It was very reminiscent of the older series (2003, 1980, 1960, and the manga in 1950). And I ate it up when Hamegg said that the rules for robots had been around for 50 years, because I think the first one to make up those rules was Tezuka. It said so in one of his manga books that I have back in my room. I was quite happy with the small tributes. Did you see Tezuka helping Tenma to build Atom? I love that piece, too. But another thing that made me think "WTF" was how it only showed so little of Daddy Walrus and nothing of Inspector Tawashi. I was also a bit upset at the fact that Atom didn't have to resort to going to live with his robot family and Jump, his dog. I WENT TO OPENING NIGHT DRESSED IN MY URAN COSPLAY HOPING SHE WOULD BE IN THE FILM. Shes my favorite character next to Atom! I was dressed in her 1980's dress- the little red one that fans out and has something on the collar that looks like a bib with a huge red knob on it. You probably already know this, but I said "knob", because you turn it to open up her chest plate. Anyway, I went in the costume and I took my Astro Boy plush with me so I could snuggle him like I always do at night when I go to bed. Not that I was going to go to bed, but I took him because he matched. And this is gonna sound crazy because I don't like incestuous crapola in real life, but I find AtomxUran to be a cuter pairing than most... Its probably the "damsel in distress" thing that makes me like them as a pairing... But before you answer to that, I'm just going to say that technically, its not incest. They're robots, so they're not actually related, nor can they do anything sexual. Wait... Scratch that last part. I'm sure that advances in science and robotics could eventually allow for upgrades that allow "growing up" and things that come with it to be programmed in a robot... I have thought about this thoroughly. I had to. Because one night, my boyfriend and I were discussing them as a couple on the phone and I came up with an OC thats their kid... So I felt obliged to explain how the OC could come up. Its WAY too much to explain right here and now, but I figured out the entire thing. Its sort of like cloning. Except, it would randomly select certain things to clone from each individual and add them to the base. And you know that fleshy, skin-like material that Atom and Uran and other robots have? Well, it sort of solves the problem of anyone getting hurt because its like rubber, so at the same time it can hold things in well, it can stretch. So, that leaves room for the proper process that I am talking about. And I skipped talking about how the program would collect "DNA" materials to clone, cuz I don't feel like saying anything else about it on an Astro Boy page. Especially not after the things I have seen on Google of Atom and the fuel injector or Atom and Uran when they're alone... It'll make your eye twitch and you'll have it BURNT INTO YOUR MIND FOREVER. All you gotta do is look up "Astro Boy", "AstroBoy", "Cute Astro Boy", "Cute AstroBoy", or "Mighty Atom" and they'll pop up, anyway! D': My God, I should shut up, now! I'm having nightmares!

I do anyway! lol I've known about him since I was 12 in 2005 because it would come on Adult Swim and my mother used to make references to him all the time, but I was afraid of him, then. One of my worst fears, believe it or not, is robots. But I seem to love most anime robots like Astro and Chii! I didn't know I'd like him until I was 17, when I first picked up the manga at the school library. I read it and discovered how cute and sweet he was and I fell in LOVE. As of right now, I have about 85 episodes from different seasons plus the movie on DVD, I own every Astro Boy video game that has ever been released, I own an Astro Boy plush who is softer than any anime plush I've ever had, I have a 1980's Uran cosplay costume, I have about 5 different normal action figures of Astro, one of which takes batteries because he has a light-up heart that makes "doki doki" sounds and a pair of light-up x-ray vision eyes and I have one of the two extremely rare collectible Astro Boy movie dolls. Mine is the one that comes without the glass tubing, has interchangeable limbs, light up eyes and a light up core. I got him at Disney World, believe it or not. He was 250.00 from the little Japanese shop at Epcot and he was the last one. He created a wonderful Disney World memory for me- the guy we were talking to about getting him off the shelf of course, was a real Japanese, and he was so happy to have met another Mighty Atom fan in the US that he asked me to sing the theme song in full Japanese with him. So we sang all the way over to the register. lol Ooh! Forgot to mention I have four of the manga books, too!~ And I have an Osamu Tezuka art book that came with a DVD about Osamu. I also have an Astro Boy movie poster in my bedroom and when I was Uran at Realms Con, I was called up to be the first one to get one of the now-hard-to-find Astro Boy promotional movie cores. They're really just bouncy balls that light up, but they were made to look like Astro's core from the movie. Well, I better stop buggin' you guys and head on over to my current crowd to hang around in... If you wanna know the kind of people I'm going to go find next, just look at my avi and read my sig. lol
