Description
This is an anime/movie/Sy style Astro. Anime cuz of the hair, movie cuz of... .well, everything else, and Sy style because Astro doesn't have glass eyes except for when I give 'em to him. Of course his shirt is coming off, as every Astro Boy/Atom fan knows that he always loses his clothes in every major battle! But I did it cuz I wanted to show his core/atom/whatever the device is in whatever version of the Astro series you're familiar with. ^_^ Yes, I made the core look like a heart. Astro has always had a big heart, and what can I say, I'm a sucker for the wholesome family look. XDAstro Boy (c) Tezuka. This art is by me, of course. ^_^ I'm a vintage Astro fan! X3

Yup! That's exactly why, actually! I mean, sometimes he's just hangin' out nekkid already (because the undies are part of his body) and sometimes he's wearing an outfit when he enters battle. XD

I love the 1950s and 1980s astroboy series, but the 2003 series in my opinion was ridiculous. I couldn't even sit through the first episode! I really enjoyed the movie because while it has it's on retelling, the basic feel of the storyline is similar to the original! It's like falling in love with astro all over again!

Yiih! I haven't read the manga, although I'd love to! I've seen the anime from the 60s and the 80s. I saw a couple of episodes from the 2003 one but they really messed that one up bad! I couldn't stand it! ^_^; What's the deal with Tenma being like some kinda king pin?! XD

If I could offer my crappy suggestions:
For the fire coming out of his rockets, I'd probably try to make it look like a big burst at his feet, then have it smoothen out as it moves further away.
For the lightning, if you're trying to do lightning that looks like a lightning strike, or something, I make an light, LIGHT yellow (or whatever color you're using) zig-zaggy streak with a soft brush, blur it with Gaussian blur, lock the transparent pixels, then use another soft brush with the color at black, Soft Light, 50% Opacity, and go over it in "shadowed" areas. I doubt that my suggestions were of any help, but I tried. X3
P.S. How do you people make screenshots of your computer screens?! I must know!
