There's no great mystery in there: my pieces are numbered sequentially. I keep an index of all of them in a separate folder to keep track of the number I'm currently at. It also helps me see at a glance my production for each year. Almost all my pages get a number, though I'm less strict about it regarding preparatory sketches - some of them don't have a number at all.

If that was me who figured out part of it, I'll have to plead senility, because I don't remember doing it (I have so many folks on watch that I sometimes forget who I've spoken to when and what about
