Description
This is another version of my previous 'The Terminal' artwork but this time in 3D and much more developed. This is also my humble entry to Ballistic ExposΓ© 10. Btw you can join me on CGsociety and CGtalk @ [link] , I would be glad to have you in my network over there too...
This is another terrain I designed with Vue 9, spaceships modelled with 3DSmax, and all postwork done in Photoshop CS3 to make everything more lively, realistic and full of details.
No hidden Jedi this time guys, dont waste your time ah ah but quite a lot of little things, lights and stuff here and there.
I had lots of fun doing it and should pass onto something different next time!!
Thx for faving and commenting this piece.
Your support means a lot to me.

Awesome sci-fi scene! Your models look great. The image comes to life with all of your hand painted light effects. Great work!

THanks, indeed it was the most paintful work but the most important one I guess!!

Very nice work Shue, but i have ONLY one thing i have a complain about . There are these three lights. The beams are not in perspective - i know that there is always a chance that they don't have to be, but i think adjusting beams will add even more perspective to your work.
You can always ignore my advice and it's really nice work mate!

Thanks a lot mate!! Sure I appreciate your comment, in fact it's a choice so, done on purpose because those beams point towards the entrance bridges on the right side and I wanted to break a little too much regular lines because you can point spots wherever direction you want. I understand your remark, no pb and sure it makes sense and I thank you for that!

When I saw that terrain tutorial I knew someone was going to do something like this. I had a similar idea but never got around to re-watching the video to create a better terrain function (lets face it - first time watching you're bound to mess up ) Of course, it would be nothing without the spaceships flying around giving life and movement to it too. That's usually where I cop out

Hi, Could I aks you what tutorial you're talking about I'd love to take a peek at it

Oh, I assumed you had it from looking at that terrain.
There's this video tutorial someone sent me from a site called "Asile FX" and they teach new ways to create cool stuff in Vue. One involves making a complex sci-fi city terrain like this using the function editor for a procedural terrain

But I look forward to make something with it
You're welcome, I kept looking at it so a little compliment and a fave is the least someone could do in return...

Sure thing!
BTW - how do you like CG Network? I'm thinking of opening a page there. I started a gallery on CG Hub, but I think maybe it's a little too narrow of a focus on "Magic the Gathering" style of artwork...

Shue13 In reply to steve-burg [2012-01-17 18:18:22 +0000 UTC]
Well, you just create a free profile like the usual stuff, avatar, info about you. Then you upload your artwork but one by one if you want to submit it to CGtalk forum, that's the big difference. CGSociety is really really high level and push you further and further. You should definitely go there and you send me an invitation to join. Let me know if any pb dude!!
