This drawing is done by [link]I did the colors for her art challenge [link] --Intentionally creating tension between warm and cool colors
My thoughts were this dragon was hatching at sunset, lots of competing warm and cool at that time of day. I didn't even lay down flat colors first, I just jumped right into the shading highlights. I really like how it came out

Well, I started with the shadows, then picked the almost complete opposite, orange, and did the highlights. I added dynamics to the highlights and shadows, then I took the orange and purple and put down a gradient behind the whole thing. I added some fur and the eye and egg color, and then the rest was just detailing.
All in all a lot simpler then I expected!
