She might be a Norwegian Forest Cat. Hang tight, because I bought a kitten that looked like that for my sister. We were blown away when she started to get more fur everywhere.

She's got tabby for sure, the M on the forehead and her stripes will start to become much more pronounced as she gets older.
You know, my vet told me 90% of gingers like that are male so a girl is a rare find.
She's beautiful, she looks a lot like my ginger at that age (except he is a male with golden green eyes).

It seems she is a tabby.
It's not impossible, seeing that I too have a female orange tabby. But one with blue eyes, I haven't heard of before. About 1% to 2% of orange tabbies are female, so your friend has one special kitty...not to mention adorable! Just hope your friend is prepared to correct the vets on her actual gender
