Thank you for your input i really appreciate it. I agree with the issue with the noise and I'll be honest I am not the best when it comes to digitally processing photos but I am trying to learn and may one day revisit this image to rectify it. Also if i remember correctly i was shooting in very low light (the sun was rising) and I think i simply forgot to adjust it as the sun rose and it got brighter.

You're welcome
There are tutorials here and there (including YouTube) for digital editing of photos. Most of it is easier than you'd imagine. And, as with most forms of art, it's important to experiment with new things.
And yes, this happens to even the most experienced photographers, every now and then they forget to adjust some setting

the wing detail is incredible! Dragonflies hold a special place for me but I have yet to be able to get a decent shot of one... any suggestions?

Try to capture them early in the morning you can find them basking in the sun and to tired to take off right away. They are really slow in the morning especially cold mornings.

the only thing i can nit-pick at is the stick is over exposed. other than that it's a lovely pic. great angle and focus

They didn't arrive here yet - at least I didn't see any - but the rain is on it's way, fast.

I do like it. The DOF is awesome. I like that it's so shallow, yet you still see so much. Great job.
