Including people on a minecraft pixelmon server as the poison gym leader xD

I remember the first time I caught a zubat. I was so excited. Then I realized leach life is a really weak attack, and all the work I put into training it didn't help much when Misty came up to bat. Goldbat's got some decent moves though.
Still, I have beaten gym leaders by the skin of my teeth because I had a zubat that knew supersonic before. Never underestimate the power of confusion.
I like this picture, for multiple reasons. The lighting is cool, the lines are good, and the colors are perfect. I feel like you were able to capture a bit of what life would be like for a zubat.

Well in the game there are pokeballs with items in them everywhere so I thought that maybe the zubat could have found one of those. or maybe it's got a pokemon in it that was dropped by the trainer that is standing behind the zubat and shining their torch at it.
I loved zubat because it looks weirdly cute with it's no eyes and tiny body with big ears. My favourite pokemon to train and breed was butterfree because it can learn confusion, gust and psybeam, you add sleeppowder to that and it makes for a pretty unstoppable bud type.
I've beaten Falkner from pokemon silver with a butterfree, the bird type gym was wrecked by a bug. Lol.
The lighting is actually a trainer shining a torch which not many people realise. And I based the zubat's pose and position off of real fruit bats I grew up watching eat mangos outside my window. I guess I became super familiar with their personalities.

I once played through all of red version using a rule where I was only allowed to catch bug and poison type pokemon, and no duplicates allowed.
I wanted to just do bug type, but back then, no bugs could learn surf, and you kind of needed that.
None of them could learn fly though, and it was a pain to walk everywhere.
Still, the feeling of beating the elite 4 and stupid Gary with my main as a lvl 60 Beedrill was awesome, and totally worth it.
Bats are awesome creatures. I used to go to a huge bat house, and watch thousands fly out at night. I've also seen the flying foxes in southern Australia, and they're beautiful.

I find the bats of pokemonΒ to be unique. I tried to do a team completely composed of the bat-like pokemon. It was pretty fun training them and getting them to the top! The grinding really drove me...........batty XDΒ

Nah they had legs but they were eating mangoes off the ground and that was how they were sitting. Their legs were sprawled out behind them and they were supporting themselves on their wings while holding the mango in place. It's quite common where I lived at the time.
