Description
While I isn’t my belief that a woman should wear a Burqa; I believe in the freedom to make one’s own choices. Personally I would find it oppressive, but that’s my opinion of which there are those who do not share.. However, regardless of my personal opinion it is my nature to look at an issue from several points of view in order to gain greater empathy.Today this is a controversial subject for several reasons---listed below is an excerpt from a web site depicting the history of the Barqa and the pros and cons of donning a Barqa.
Here is the statement of a young Iranian school girl.
“Wearing conservative clothing protects them from sexual harassment and objectification. An Iranian school girl states, "We want to stop men from treating us like sex objects, as they have always done. We want them to ignore our appearance and to be attentive to our personalities and mind. We want them to take us seriously and treat us as equals and not just chase us around for our bodies and physical looks."

This is a mixed media creation. It began as a colored pencil drawing and then enhanced by photo-shop. But I wasn't finished as I felt it needed a little something else so I added additional texture courtesy of Cat Hair Studio:

I think a woman wears Burga her own choice, that is her rights. But, someone's order or that makes risk for her, I don't accept, even if to ware nor un-ware.
Whatever, I love it!

I agree Chiyuky, if a woman chooses via her free will to wear a Burqa---that's fine, but to be forced to wear one is not. Thank you so much for the view and the comment!
