Description Oo its another Color practice drawing. ..XD This time of Aerith....I can't help it I enjoy FanArt(*^-^*)

Well I know I made her hair unusually high on the top and small ears but What the Hey, this isn't about the actual drawing itself. Its about the color. Yea I suck at drawing hands XD lol


I swear coloring skin is soooo frustrating.  As you can tell I screwed up...A LOT Ahhhhh!!!! 

I tried my best with the hair lights and darks to add contrast Thanks to 's & 's advice Thx sooo much. I still have along way to go.

Awwwwwww thx sooo much I'm sorry it took me long to respond back. I appreciate the comment^^ Ummmm....hmmmmmm.....I actually can't remember....this was when I started coloring my drawings and Since I'm kinda slow getting art out I would say a day. ...I think. ...lol XD

You've got some nice work (I like this one most x3). And I saw on your profile that any advice on coloring is appreciated ^_^. I'm no pro, but I can give you a few tips . For the skin, traditional or digital, there's always something I keep in mind: where the light source is coming from. For the hair, skin or anything, shading requires a light source (the sun, a lamp, fire, etc.). Practicing in black and white at first is great for establishing values, knowing what parts of the skin/hair have dark patches or highlights. After that, coloring it will be a sinch! I always find the value of a piece more important than it's color, value's what gives a drawing depth, colors can then be applied to that. You can always look up references on Google for human face lighting!

Even though your style is anime/manga, I still suggest looking at lighting references/tutorials, to know where there is light/darkness on the human face ^_^ . I'm a bit crappy at explaining things but I hope this helped

Awwww Omigosh Thank You soooo much for the Great advice & Tips! I Really appreciate it. Im very poor with color but I've been trying my best to practice.  I try to watch tutorials and read book but I can't seem to get a grasp on it.XD Thanks again sooo much for taking the time to give me advice to improve its always nice to hear from other artists such as yourself

This is really good!!! I love it. However I have a suggestion : maybe there should just a little bit of white or lighter shade of brown/tan on the hair, it gives a little more of a contrast, and maybe a little bit of pink to colors her cheeks? That being said, it's a wonderful piece, just some tips artist-to-artist

Hehe thx a lot for the advice.  I was t alittle peach on her cheeks but not sure why it didn't show up; ( must be my crappycameraXD lol but I hear what ur saying^-^ Thx I will try harder on my next drawing.
