A very sweet and touching homecoming. I hope this may actually happen on film or on the TV show.
My idea would be that to everypony's shock, Sunset emerges from the Crystal Mirror back in Equestria still as a human, and permanently. But she sees it as a blessing rather than a curse. She reformed, redeemed herself and learned all about friendship in the human world, and believes this is what she was meant to be all along. Now back home in Equestria, her job is to help spread the magic of friendship to all its citizens, pony and non-pony alike.
But, that's just my idea. We'll see that the folks at Hasbro have up their hooves.

The prodigal child has returned. And it looks like there's a lot of mixed joy and grief at this reunion. (And why is it that I feel like Hasbro is not going to do this at the end of Friendship Games? I mean, they may want to leave it open-ended for an Equestria TV show spin-off, by keeping Sunset Shimmer in the human world indefinitely.)

If Sunset does return (even just to visit) I suspect it'll be in the show itself, rather than a movie. The EG movies are clearly centered on the human world, and Sunset's reunion with Celestia would be such a major development that you couldn't stick it into the opening or closing scenes.
I do hope she'll turn up as a guest character in a regular episode sooner or later. Who knows - maybe they'll even do it in the season finale?

I agree. How the heck is Sunset and Celestia reconciling going to shake up the deisgn for the human world spin off? It'll give Sunset some closure and let her be an Element of Harmony for the human world without regrets.Β

(My comment was written under the belief that Sunset's return would not be for the sole sake of reconciling, but for the ostensible purpose of trying to make good for Princess Twilight.)
I'd really rather hope that Sunset Shimmer's remaining character arc does not involve her being a human for the remaining duration of the show. She came into this thing as a pony; she has to leave it as a pony.
(Also, I'm not really that big a fan of Equestria Girls. It's a far cry from what the TV show is trying to be, and the FlashLight romance is hamfisted.)
