Description
So the past couple of days at work I've been stumped. I sit at my desk and wait for inspiration. Nothing comes. So, I cover sticky notes with doodles, instead of thumbnails and actual work....and then, a few days later, I piece em all together and post them on here.
This is when I'm allowed to draw the Eds crappy.

Fantastic. I don't know why, but I love the sketchy-pencil-ality of it.

I like these little sticky note sketches. Especially the Eddy at the near the bottom right, where he's presenting. I also like the Eddy at the topright who looks all sour. Great little sticky sketches.

You know what I find frustrating about drawing the Eds? There is no obvious system when drawing facial expressions or stances. So I applaud you for just being able to sit down and doodle them beautifully.

Just out of curiousity, how long does it usually take you sketch out your doodles (I use the word 'doodle' loosely kuz these...just...wow ;_; )? Say if you had to whip out a couple of thumbnails, for example?

Not very long, about a minute and under for rough stuff like that...I draw them all day, every day, so it kinda just happens!
Thanks for the comments

The Eds look fantastic! Seeing them on sticky notes is even cooler than seeing them on TV! When you're watching a cartoon it's easy for me to sometimes forget that an actual person is drawing all those pictures!

I absalutly (or however you spell it) love your artwork! I love all the drawings used here, it's amazing! The thing about Eddy is how when you draw him you can't just have a normal expression! You absalutly HAVE to draw him with the expressions worth animating, i tried drawing a sample of him, but i coudn't figure out what expression i wanted. It's so hard drawing ONE Eddy on ONE page. But than agian samething goes with Ed, he's so halarious. Anyways i hope you find my useless rambling not offensive in any particular way. Keep up the MAGNIFICENT work!

Wow. You're sketches are so expressive. I'm loving the motion in all the mundane poses. The artwork takes on an almost palletable quality when the charcacters aren't squiggling all over the place. I think this is about as close as I'm EVER going to get to liking Ed,Edd and Eddy.

Thanks so much...I appreciate the comments. I believe that some artists tend to push even the most "mundane" poses too far and it ruins it. Sure, there's gotta be life to 'em, but not so much that it's distracting.
I'm glad you could bear to like the Eds even for this long

Yeah, I know what you mean. I know I overdo alot of my work. Maybe even all of it. There's really alot to be said for finding that fine line. I think that's what I appreciate most about these sketches. (Especially in light of the hyperactively-animated subject matter. )

^^ Iβm in sketch heaven. I even like the ones of Sarah (coughbratcough). But I really like the one of Eddy sitting and staring at a piece of paper looking depressed. Itβs so rare to see him sad, yet so adorable. Could he be reading a letter from his brother? Or thinking of what to write to his brother? Or maybe heβs taking a test he didnβt study for. Maybe Iβm just reading too much into it. XP

Heh, I think you are...but I guess anyone is allowed to take it as they please.
It's actually pretty much how I was feeling when I was doing all these little drawings. Kinda depressed, staring at a blank page.

Hurray for sticky-notes! That's a great idea for puttng sticky-note-doodles online, Sibs! I have to remember that one *writes down on a sticky-note... *
D'oh well, I realy need to work on the Eds, myself... I can draw Ed now.... Edd is starting to improve but I still can't get the hang of drawing Eddy!
Maybe you should make a tutorial or something
Anyhoo, great job and a fave!

Heh. For a second, I thought this was all done on ONE sticky note. I was going to say... wow.
But still. Wow. This is great! I especially love the red bending over Eddy, and the what appears to be dancing Edd to the right. Very cute! *faves*

Out of curiosity, just what out of what you draw falls under the category of stuff you can't post here? o_O

Sibsy In reply to cgshadow7 [2005-03-10 06:36:32 +0000 UTC]
I can't post things that are show-related...stuff that hasn't been aired yet. Like drawings I'm doing for the episodes I'm working on at the present time. These are just doodles I do to help keep in practise. It's pretty much the equivalent of any random person drawing the characters.
