Description
This poster was part of a one day brief I had in college.
Each person in class was asked to write up a set of 4 rules. These rules needed to be adheared to when making the poster. They were put into a hat and we each picked out one ruleset each.
The rules I picked out were as follows:
1. 3-4 Colours must be used.
2. No more than two typefaces to be used.
3. Be as creatively crazy as you can with the 3-4 colours.
4. No grid is to be used - be completely random.
So, I got some inspiration from the abstract expressionist style, in particular Jackson Pollock..
Poster took about 2 hours I think.

I remember that project. We had to design a summer film festival poster with the same rules system. It was a very interesting experience. My teammate and I ended up dunking our feet in blue paint and walking along the studio floor .

I remember doing something like this once with Microsoft Paint a long time ago. Ah, time before Photoshop ...
Anyhoo, I like this a lot, I'll see if I can get the print for myself sometime this year.

like the idea of morphing abstract expressionism into something that ordered like type
