Description
This is a piece done for the "Steve Allen Theatre" in Burbank, CA. Right now they are having drive-in screenings of the "Masters of Horror" and their movies along with guest appearances. If you are in the area then you should definitely check this thing out. And if you go to the Phantasm 2 screening I will be there for sure to see it with the director Don Coscarelli so come and say hi.I love drawing all these characters together. So much fun.
*UPDATE* I got a bunch of comments saying this looks like Super Nintendo box art. I never had an SNES and had to check out the boxes. This would totally fit into that world. If they had made a game like this I would have bought the system.

I love MOH and own more than a dozen of em. This is a really cool sounding event and a kick ass piece to represent the classics that these writers/directors blessed us with. Awesome work.

YEa, it was a fun series. Watch the "Incident On and Off a Mountain Road" one. I worked on that, did some storyboards etc. and was mentioned in the commentary. Pretty cool.

Really?! That's one of my faves! I own it and have seen it 3 or 4 times. Very cool indeed. I also really liked "Right to Die" and "Pelts". I own at least 15 of the MOH DVDs. How in the hell do you get hooked up with a gig like that? I know you're in the biz, but wow.

It's a long story but the short of it is a friend of a friend got hooked up with a job doing some work on Bubba Ho-Tep and needed some help. He asked my friend who also needed some creative help and we ended up being the Visual FX Supervisors on Bubba Ho-Tep. Don Coscarelli and I became good friends and have been trying to work on some stuff for some time. When that came up he asked for me to help and I couldn't pass that up. I also got to do a lot of 2nd unit stuff including where "moon face" jumps at us with the moon behind him, really cool shot that came out great.

I'm so stunned, but not surprised. That's my favorite scene. You could literally cut out any frame from that moment and frame it as art to hang. Kick ass man, that's just awesome.

Now, *this* is the animated musical I'd pay money to see.
(Congratulations on the Pooh DVD, though...)

Bruce Campbell and Reggie Bannister have been in a couple movies together. Bubba Ho-Tep, obviously (which was directed by Don "Coscareezee" -- Bruce Presley parlance there), but also The Demolitionist (which wasn't that great). Phantasm 2 was the one where Reggie built his famous/infamous Dwarf Killer -- a quad-barrel shotgun made from two side-by-sides fused together (side-by-side-by-side-by-side?). It also had a fog light with its own battery strapped to the forearm, rendering the forearm useless, hence the bicycle handlebar grip Reggie attached to it so it would have a functional foregrip. The barrels were sawed off with a wedge shape which was actually purposeless since it wouldn't actually alter the shot pattern (which you wouldn't want to do anyway). It also had the buttpad removed for no particular reason.

You'll be happy to know that I have actually held that gun in my hands. It is a working gun as well. The barrels were sawed off into a wedge so he could still use it as a weapon ( bayonet like?) in case he has no time to reload. Thats the bad part having to reload that sucker. The thing is pretty heavy with all that metal on the front end.

You actually held the Dwarf Killer?! You! You are...fortunate!
How does the trigger work? Is it single-selective or does it have two seperate selective triggers? I couldn't have more than one trigger, so I'm assuming that whatever triggers it does have are selective (likely firing right then left).

YEa, it has two triggers. Essentially two guns with one handle/stock.

I especially love the Werewolf and the IT'S ALIVE baby!
..."The Davis' just had a new baby, but there is one thing wrong with it.... IT'S ALIVE!"
That guh' dayuhm' commercial used to scare the crap outta' me when I was super young. I would dive for the TV to change the channel.
Good times....

Riding the Bullet is one of the most underrated horror movies of all time. I can't believe it scored under 5.0 on IMDb.
Not only is it a great movie, but I related strongly to its central theme.
A really intelligent and dense film. So much more than a horror movie. And I love its dark sense of humor.
