Description Sooo... anyone remember how I said on my last picture that this isn't a sudden burst of work coming from me? And then I proceeded to create three pictures in the span of four days. Thing is, I'm only half-full of shit. See, after posting my last picture I had this idea. This idea manifested itself into me working on it for about ten hours because I wanted to know how it'd turn out. So yeah, this is probably it, because I really don't want to burn myself out on G-Mod. No idea if further work will be in Aftermath, though the concept really lends itself to more and more pictures so maybe I'll stick to it out of lazyness.

Anyway, one last hurra for Gasmask-Man and my goddamn incosistency...

Outstanding scenebuild, lad.

I must ask, how do you manage to illuminate what I imagine is a rather large area?

Separate passes with soft-lamps, which, after they're rendered, I combine in Photoshop. The amount of passes that got used for this were 26 (to illuminate the front and Gasmask-Dude, the scrapyard central with the cars, the two hills, the road upward and the planecrash in the distance). Though it took me a few tries to get the lighting right. In total it's probably closer to 35 passes.

Though I have to say it's not such a big area as it might seem like. The right perspective allows me to pull some tricks

So you combine the layers in PS?

Yup. But if I remember correctly, didn't we already have a conversation similiar to this? Because I think I linked you Vioxtars tutorial once, he also outlines how to do the lighting there. You stack them together and tell PS to mulitply the negatives.
I think it was on "Disposal", where I linked it to you. Give it another look, it's part of the process.
(if necessary I can link the tutorial again, I've got it bookmarked )

I'm being reminded so much about the Truck Cemetery on STALKER Call of Chernobyl.

Regardless, nice work on this one.
