 I tried DaVinci Resolve as it is a free "movie maker" but it does not save as ".gif" so I used Photoshop to save it as ".gif"

i use  Photoshop or Ulead Gif Animator~~
flash Output gif poor quality.

I drew 5 frames and re-used the first four frames after the fifth frame in opposite order on the end so it's a total of 9 frames.

It depends on the software or medium whether it is hard or not. I draw my frames on the PC with the drawing software PaintToolSai. It makes it easy to draw different frames.
To make the animated GIF file I put all those frames in PhotoShop, as it has a time line. Working on a 3ds or wiiu sounds harder to me
