this oddly reminds me of the game "Double Hitler", a QWOP style game, which is quite hilarious, yet hard. This just makes me laugh harder! XD

That would be amazing... Maybe even through an accidental event which spooked both of them to unfuse from Garnet into Ruby and Sapphire and they were to scared to fuse back so they try to have some fun in Beach City, but a gem creature gets in their way.
Since both were too scared to fuse after the traumatic event, STEVEN would come by and say the exact same line to both of them like how Garnet told him when he ended up fusing with Connie. Thus they would have enough courage to form into Garnet.
There could be a moment where they try to sneak into a private event such as a speech given by Mayor Dewey and they would be wearing a trenchcoat.
I don't know what event to think of for them to do during that event... But if you have something, let me know.

Maybe an episode where they teach Steven the meaning of love, and they get separated somehow, possibly by an internal argument. Steven helps them work things out together, in his own special Steven way. And, in the ending scene of the episode where garnet is finally fused, Steven looks up to see connie, hair blowing in the wind as she looks out upon the ocean, and Steven simply blushes a little and smiles.

Let's just hope it's not dragged on and on. I want a full fleshed out romance that makes sense, despite them being good friends. What more do they have in common, what are Stevens exact feelings? We need all of that for a good romance.
