You're gonna bite the dust!My submission for NATG XIII: Day 2! With today's prompt being "Draw a pony making their move / Draw a pony bursting with life" with Dash facing off Twi, actually, in a game of chess. Twi, specifically, because this is kind of a collaborative prompt answer, as the other half of the "combat" showing Twi was drawn by my girlfriend, ArtsyGum , here ! The idea being that they're facing each other off, as Twi makes her next move! And Dash does not seem very pleased about it, haha.
Had a looot of fun with this one! My girlfriend surprised me and came up with the pun for this one. I liked it so much I wanted to do a version too, and then we decided why not draw the two sides of a duel! Dash versus Twi! She designed the unique pieces, actually, and I got to do my rendition of them. The King is supposed to be a sun, representing Celestia, the Queen is the moon, representing Luna, and the bishop (fallen over from Dash's frustration) is supposed to be based on Starswirl's cutie mark! I thought the designs were really genius, and they were a blast to draw, honestly. And, yet another Dash entry, I can't help myself xD Drawing her enraged is perhaps another guilty pleasure of mine. It's super fun drawing intense expressions like this, I think. Hopefully she doesn't rage quit on Twi!
