"I've been told that these very woods are haunted!"

My submission for NATG XII, Makeup Day 3! Submitting for Day 25: "Day 25: Draw a pony stretching the truth / Draw a pony with a tall tale to tell." Wanted to squeeze in at least one last Dash (assuming I don't draw her tomorrow, haha) with a simple episode scene redraw! Specifically from Sleepless in Ponyville. Sometimes I wonder the point of these, since my style is basically show style it's like just making a copy xD But I find it fun, and I often change certain things up where the screenshot is more of a base and I actually wanna draw something slightly different. Like this isn't actually an exact moment that happens in the show, but I wanted to drew Dashie more sinisterly rubbing her hooves together with a slightly more sinister expression as she told the story! Not to mention I often will draw a bit more than what's show in the show (like Dash's mane is chopped off in the framing in the actual scene). Also, practice is practice And drawing Dash is drawing Dash! Which I always enjoy.

Decided to go with the soft shading, as this moment actually has its own kind of soft shading. Had to figure out how to darken the mane colours right for the lighting, but otherwise this was a pretty simple drawing. Can't say I have many complaints, though often I wonder about my head shape recently. Sometimes it feels a little off. I think strict show style the edges of the eyes seem to meet right up with the heads outline? But I don't tend to naturally draw it like that. It can make for a slightly wide face, I guess, though that probably some looking too far into things, haha. Oh, also, the basic little woods background was a bit of small fun to do as well! Just mimic'd from the show, but also a very nice simple style that's easy to do yet comes out satisfying and still clear what it is. In general just a lot of fun drawing this one! ^^
