Description
By sewing it into her robe!My submission for NATG IX: Day 6. Today's prompt was "Draw a boasting pony / Draw a pony making a name for themselves." So Rarity is literally making a name for herself in her robe, haha! As well as making a name for herself as a fassion designer. Perhaps you could even put this as a boasting pony, since she'll be displaying her own name on her robe, which could be condering boasting.
Also, sweet Celestia, this drawing turned into a pain ... so apparently I actually have never drawn Rarity in digital before now, and she has a very difficult mane to draw, but not only that, but this angle I was trying to go for was so immensely difficult to get right ... I probably spent an hour or something trying to draw drafts of the angles and figure it out and look at references, but I just couldn't do it. The mane particularly, trying to draw its complicated geometry as viewed from this anfgle. I think I did an okay job in the end, but it's not quite the angle I was wanting; I wanted a slightly more upper angle on the head so she'd be tugging on the string slightly differently, with her muzzle pointed a bit more away. Like she's supposed to be pulling right off to the side, not straight up, which turned out to be surprisingly hard to sell. In my head I still see that she's pulling to the side in the picture, but giving double takes at it, I get the feeling it probably looks like she's actually just pulling straight up to a new viewer at a quick glance. But I don't really know anymore at this point
This drawing also looked incredibly flat on its own, so I had to try my best hack at doing the shading in a way that sells the lighting from the window as well as the angle, etc. Which was also quite difficult
Yeah, so I'm personally not the happiest with this drawing. It's fine, though; and I still enjoyed drawing Rarity herself, even if trying my best to get the angle was super difficult and time-consuming.

For some reason I feel like Rarity would look good in a ruffled collar like this: www.christies.com/img/LotImageβ¦

If you like the idea, maybe you should try drawing it? It would look amazing in your style!

I already told you my thoughts on Discord, but it has to be said here too. You did an amazing job! Everything works well, perspective, pose, anatomy, colours, shading, details, background. It's something you could easily see in the Drawfriend on EQD. All this hard work has paid off with interest <3
