The models are free downloads from Daz 3d for our USE... It is a serious thing to accuse someone of stealing without knowing the facts.

You're very confused.... He used the model in a PICTURE...He did not say "I made this model all by myself, it's mine mine mine." He even identified the location of where it came from... Exactly how else would you USE something of this nature that is given to you if not in your artwork? I have used MANY free models from Daz 3d in my artwork (Some of which artwork is displayed in the Daz 3d galleries as well as here)... That is what it is there for. In fact there are thousands of free models, textures, characters, etc. all over the internet that were created for people to use in their artwork. Some... very few, say "not for commercial use" which means that while the person can make a pretty picture and post it on his website, such as this one, he may not sell prints of a picture with that particular model in it without permission. The gingerbread house in this artwork is freely given. The only thing that may not be done with it is redistribution of the actual model itself, meaning this deviant may not offer the file containing the mesh figure model in it to anyone for sale, for free, for any reason.

You explained well, and I appreciate the fact that you were not harsh. Sorry to the artist as well.

When 3d models are created for artists to use in their work, they are a tool....They were not created for the creator to make artwork from, they were created for artists to make artwork from... Just like a paintbrush is a tool, Colored scraps shaped like stars for artwork at children's school are tools, unpainted shapes that people buy and paint on are tools.. There are very many models out there that are created for artists...Some are freely given...some are for sale by the various modelers. Antagonistic accusations do not change the fact. Have a happy holiday season.
