It's hard enough to fight against that stupid reputation/clichΓ© that Amy Rose got (such as 'crazy-stalker-obssessed fangirl' which she's NOT), so when I heard her new voice...I didn't know if I wanted to scream from sheer horror or just cry my eyes out till they bleed. That's how disgusted I am.
Amy really didn't deserve that 'Minnie Mouse' voice. That clearly won't help her to gain more consideration from the Sonic fandom. I feel so sorry for her.
Then again, I'll support Amy Rose till the end!

Thanks but... I think you kinda misunderstood me here.
I'm not waging war against anything (Sega, 'Sonic X' or whatever other stuff...)even though it's obvious that Amy is showing quite well -and with humour- my feelings in this pic.

Amy is my absolute favorite character, but after watching Sonic Free Riders...I...I kinda died inside a little bit after hearing her voice. D'x

A voice is part of the character's personality, just as much as their appearance: change one thing and it ends all messed up!
For example, imagine that Sega would turn Sonic's fur color in red. Would you like it? No, huh? Well, it's the same thing for voices. It does count.

It's a video game. You play it for the game play, not for some hedgehog to say "YOU'RE TOO SLOW 6u9".
What about games that, I dunno, DON'T feature voices or lines of dialogue for the characters? Like Pokemon or Katamari Damacy? Do those characters have no personality then? Is the game not meritable then? At least in those communities we don't get dumb little fucks who complain about something so frivolous as ~*voice acting in a video game*~. Not that I'm pointing fingers though
Sonic games aren't like games such as Heavy Rain, where the voice acting is an important element in the game, because it's all about the story and characters, NOT the gameplay. Sonic games are not like movies or TV shows, where the personalities of the characters are a major element.
You know what Sonic games usually are?
RUNNING AND KILLING ROBOTS

As for me, I truly think that voices are important since they are attached to their characters' personality. (If those characters can speak, that is) ^^ Those video game characters are more than pixels you know: they talk, they move, they have a story, they are alive in their universe. That's why people usually like them, right?
I just don't want one of my favourite character to be tainted by a disgraceful voice. Is that too much to ask?
And I don't recall having flamed any game here in this pic or in the artist comment, so just don't go and assume things so hastily, will you? ^^

You know, there's a big reason videogame reviewers either never talk about, or have one or two sentences about voice acting: it doesn't matter. AT ALL.
I don't care if Amy's your favorite character. Bitching about something as small as voice acting is dumb in any sense haha. I like Silver and Rouge, and most people say their voices suck. But did I give even the tiniest of fucks?
No, because gameplay > voice acting any day.
Oh and yes, video game characters are pixels and nothing more. Last time I checked, Mario isn't real.
Also, you DO realize that this is the first time the voice actress has played Amy? Since you're just so focused on voice actors, you would have noticed that the last batch of voice actors improved over time as the games progressed. It's called maturing, something that these new voice actors have not done yet. They haven't become accustomed to the characters. In short, you're pretty much just bitching about eating a green banana, when you haven't even given it the chance to ripen.
Do you even acknowledge that? Ah wait, you don't. Things always gotta be perfect for Sonic fans these days, I suppose. Way to make the fandom look worse by focusing on the least important aspect of games like the Sonic series. Just FYI, you can have a game with a great story and voice acting, but if the game play is shit, the game bombs. Know why? Because people buy video games for the GAMEPLAY. If they wanted something with perfect acting, they'd watch a movie.
Oh, and the voice of Amy now vs the voice before the newest switch isn't exactly all too different lmao. She was whiny and high-pitched then, and she is now. But that's not the point.
