S'kay, I actually got pretty far in Homestuck and despite liking some of the characters, still do not understand what the fuck is going on in any of it.
One giant cluster fuck of alternate time lines and dimension bullshit--because hell, if you can't write well, just cover it up by making it so confusing NO ONE understand what's really happening.

I'll admit, I got into Homestuck because the fanart the fans crank out can be beautiful. Also out of curiosity for the astrology themed trolls (which also piqued my curiosity).
Buuuut it took me several tries to get past the slow ass beginning (and then I just said "screw it" and jumped to the part with the trolls). It wasn't too bad for a while there, but then they started throwing in all this alternate timeline crap and it got way too confusing and not something I wanted to slog through in my limited off time. I just kinda read through the wiki of characters who are interesting and checked out the 'major' points linked there since some of the animation is pretty cool.
LOL the irony lies in groups on the internet shunning those who don't like what they like after resenting a similar treatment in high school ("I'm not like those preps--I'm WAY more accepting of others and their differences.")
