Same here.
Although I'm not one to get into "shipping" or anything, but there are certain pairings that I am kind of fond of. And this is one that I do find potentially endearing.

When Link first meets Ruto, she initially comes across as just a bossy, egotistical, self-centered, and spoiled brat (although this is excusable when you consider that she's only 9 or 10 years old at the time), but as you go along and she finds her mother's stone that she had lost, you get a better understanding of her and see more of her true side; she's really just a lonely little girl who misses her mother, her father is very doting towards her but likely doesn't quite understand her very well, and now she thinks she's found the sort of true companionship that she'd been longing for in Link. You can't help but feel for her.

I kind of think that Link may be just the kind of person that she needs in her life. While I certainly don't blame him for feeling uncomfortable around her (especially since he still only has the mind of a 9-year-old), but I do think Link could easily warm up to her in time. Ruto does have her good side, she seemed to have grown pretty mature for her age by the time Link meets her again seven years later, and he's proven himself to be a patient enough guy to endure her bossy side and bring out her better self, so I think things could actually work out well between them if they did end up together.

But in the meantime, their relationship sure makes an adorable source of comedy! They're one of my favorite subjects to draw. XD

I can see where you are going at with this couple. Actually come to think of it, maybe the reason Ruto seems boss is because she is trying to be more independent then rely on her father and him trying to set up her "future" and she might has other mixed emotions with missing her late mother and other things. So Ruto is a fairly broken girl/princess. But being with Link, she likes it is someone who is not a stuck up Royalty and is pretty independent like herself since Link is usually able to adventure mostly by himself with little trouble and other good qualities as well. It would of been nice if Nintendo portrayed Ruto this way a little more, but that is what fanfictions and fan art are for.

Man with this kind of material of deepening this relationship between the two, it would actually make a nice little fanfiction. If only we could find someone good enough to do it...

Well regardless how you feel about the couple, I look forward to more artwork of them in the future!
