Wow this is a really great shot! the tone is just right and the composition is great, and the clarity is amazing! I especially love the eyes I think they're mesmerizing (hmm usually I use that on the girls)... I love the alien feel to it. The only minor suggestion I would give is perhaps zooming out just a little bit... It took me a while to orientate myself as to what the things on the left are and realise the turtle's head is turned towards the camera instead of coming down from the top right corner.

Obviously, it seems that the question or statement at hand should be concerning to the true species of your model. It did not appear to be a croc or gator, so I'll go ahead and assume for now that it is a Komodo Dragon. Your whole, "seize the day", with the title made me think that the animals name might translate to seize or power or both. Nice pic thought, it has definitely stirred more minds than just mine. Let me know if I'm right or if that gator guy already got it, if you find the time of course. JW[link]
