I really love these critters but, alas, here in South America we don't have anything like them.

Our area does not have anything like it either, they live farther south from us. I'd love to see a real one one of these days.

They are so beautiful!
a few years ago, a red squirrel lived in the tree Β I have flanking my house. It was easy to know when it was active. that squirrel was a pretty creature... but what a mess after eating fruit! t was mandatory broom cleaning!

Well, I love animals and I hate that kind of behavior with them. Once, years ago, I got a pneumatic pistol for target shooting; some kids were visiting and saw it... one yelled: Let's get it out to shoot lizards!" By miracle I didn't kick him out... literally.

I understand, cruelty is not a behaviour that I encourage either.

In fact, years ago, I befriended a small female gecko that used to run through my room walls. Sje grew so tame she actually waggled her tail when I Β gazed her. I called her "Stumpy"... and I miss my little friend...

Yes... Last time I saw her, she had an egg in her little belly.
