This work has good overall balance. Having the face in the center usually makes for a plain photo but the body being angled to the side works for this one. The composition looks natural and not planned, the focus is where it needs to be (on the face), and you captured the pose at the right time. The colors are where they should be as the cougar blends into the background, yet still stands out enough.
The eyes are so clear that the viewer can see into the animals soul, even though it's not looking directly at the camera.
