If miss Rarity considered fashion show in Ponyville to be nothing unordinary (she did out of mere wish to bring a tiny bit of Canterlot fashion to simple town), then for Onyx herself it was a whole event.
Onyx. Oh-nyx. Onyx Gleam. A very simple name, but how right did it sound, even if she didn't say it out loud. It still seemed like a little miracle. Before she only used this name only in privacy, like in childhood when she secretly climbed into her mother's wardrobe and drowned herself in fashionable exclusive dresses from all other Equestria. Now her new name wasn't a secret for anyone anymore. Even now when all the models appeared on a stage for a curtain call (and she was with them, how amazing!), she was introduced in no other way than Onyx.
Not only her name was wonderful, but the whole night too, from its beginning to this moment. Literally a couple of weeks ago she was scared of mere thought to go out in a dress, but now she walked on a real podium in absolutely new gowns from her favorite designer.
Unbelivable. And if it's not a dream, it sure looked like one.

"You were absolutely wunderbar, meine girl! Absolutely wunderbar!" The voice of her mother suddenly reached her itself, even though Onyx spent a good few minutes to find Photofinish when she walked off the stage. The blue mare found her sooner. She looked so happy, beaming with pride... with unfamiliar tears of joy in the corners of her eyes.
"Meine girl," echoed in her head, making her tear up. Onyx blinked the tears off, embracing her mother back.
Everything came back to order. Everything looked less and less like a dream, because this dream was coming true.
