Description This part of my new Pulp Serial line of classic characters from pulp novels, old comics, and radio serials.

I have loved the character of Flash Gordon most of my life, I even have a soft spot for the 80's movie. I went for the classic design of the old comics but tried to get the likeness of the old serial actor buster grab.

Like most of the figures in this line it was started years ago and finished in Jan 2012

Flash is one of my favorites. I first saw him on Defenders of the Earth, then the 1980 movie (both of which I love) I've since seen most of the Buster Crabbe serials.

You did an excellent job of making it look like him while not making it too realistic. Excellent job

A nice mix of the classic FLASH GORDON comic strip look and the Filmation cartoon series look. The gun is a nice add-on, too.

I've always been oddly drawn to the weird combination headband and earflap... thing... he's shown wearing. You see it on a bunch of comic book heroes later on who wanted more than a domino mask but didn't want a cowl that would mess up their hair -- The Angel (classic red sut with white stripe version), Kid Flash, Booster Gold, etc.

It is one of those features I always loved, I think that is why I always loved mcquarries early star wars stuff.

After a recent... episode... with another DA-artist, I'd like to thank you for reacting cordially to all comments on your artwork, whether they're compimentary or critical.

"Everyone has the right to their opinion, it is just part of putting your stuff out there"

Sadly, not everyone gets that posting their artwork here and leaving the comment option engaged allows for critiques that aren't always fawning admiration. I recently received a very hostile "Who asked you?" message in response to a comment I posted, and all I did was agree wth someone else's posting that some minor detail of the art in question -- a torso piercing -- made him wince.

I try to comment on most. Everyone has the right to their opinion, it is just part of putting your stuff out there.
