Life With The Koopa Family Chapter Two
"You wouldn't believe it but I'm in Bowser's castle!!! THE BOWSER!!! I am so freaking excited!" I said to myself with enthusiasm. I was
writing an entry in my journal.
I was originally suppose to be staying at a hotel in Toad Town but I got lost on the way there. Instead I found myself at Bowser's
Castle. I was going to run away but when I was running I ran into Bowser. He cleared everything up with the hotel and said i'd be
staying at his place instead.
Of course at first I was...A little uneasy. But in a mere matter of minutes Bowser was able to change my whole perspective on him."
"You know despite popular belief he isn't that bad of a guy. He's actually a really kind and gentle soul." I wrote the date and signed my
name at the bottom just in time for there to be a knock on the door.
"Come in!" I said shutting the book and sitting up in my bed.
The door opened and a short and rather older looking koopa walked in. He had a blue shell and a thick white mustache‚"Master Jacob?
I'm the executive koopa‚ Geoff." He said with a bow. He returned to his standing position and smiled at me‚"I'm here to give you a tour
of the house."
"Alright! It's more like a castle if you ask me." I chuckled at my lame sense of humour but to my surprise so did the koopa.
"Yes quite right master jacob."
I got down from the bed resting my feet on the ground the plush red carpet giving way for my feet. The carpet felt really nice and soft
on my feet‚"Wow...this carpet feels so nice!"
Geoff chuckled and led me down the halls once again. He showed me the restrooms the kitchens and the main hall. He told me about
the dungeons and such. He showed me where the employees lived.
Soon after about an hour we came across a rather large door. The rim of the door was a bright gold with large silver spikes poking out
of it. The door itself was red and had gold spots on it. The doorknobs were golden paws which I thought was pretty funny. 'Its like paws
are the door to his insides...wait...what? I really need to work on my inner dialogue..'
"Hey Geoff? What's this room?" I looked at the doorknobs not really looking to him.
He chuckled a bit knowing I was looking at the doorknobs‚"Ah yes. This is Master Bowser's quarters. Would you like to visit him? I bet
that he'd like to know how you like it here."
"M-may I?" I was blushing a bit remembering the koopa's kindness.
"Of course just knock."
I gulped a bit and knocked softly on the door.
"Come in." A deep gruff voice answered a little bit annoyed.
I blushed and pushed the door open with surprising ease. I looked around the room surprised at the simplicity of it all. It was just your
average room with posters and the usual geeky stuff in it. 'Huh...didnt peg bowser as the geeky type.'
"Come to me." He said not looking up from his desk. I could hear the faint sound of a pencil scratch on paper.
I walked over to the koopa not speaking yet a little afriad I would make him mad. As I walked to him he spoke another command‚"Sit."
I sat down right behind his chair, holding my knees feeling a little bit bad like I had down something bad and looked down at the
ground.
Bowser turned around in his swivle chair and looked down at his feet and chuckled when he saw his human guest‚"Why hello there
jake! I do apologize I thought you were one of my servants."
I blush a bit and looked up at the koopa smiling‚"o-oh its quite alright.." I felt completely embaressed that I had just obeyed the king as
easy as a train dog.
"Oh I can tell you dont mind. But I would like to know how your stay has been." The king layed back in his chair and chuckled softly.
"I-its really nice..Geoff is really nice."
He chuckled softly while scratching his belly.
"Y-yeah." I stood up a bit quickly and patted my lap‚"s-sorry about that..You said you were looking at resumes before?" I wanted to
change the subject as quick as I could.
"Hmm? Oh yes‚ I'm trying to find a few new koopa troops. My army is lacking somewhat and the princess has asked for my assistance in
guarding some treasure."
I looked at him a bit confused‚"Wait the princess is asking YOU for help? I thought you guys were enemies and stuff."
Bowser huffed a bit some flames escaping his nostrils‚ obviously I had irritated him slightly‚"Yes we have had our differences in the past.
But I signed a Peace Treaty with Princess Peach and that stu- I mean...Mario. So I'm now allied along side them." As he spoke he pulled
out a peace of paper from his desk‚ showing me the signatures and the treaty.
"W-whoa.. Well thats good glad I won't have to really worry about my stay here." I said with a bit of relief rubbing my arm.
"Of course not. I had invited you to stay here‚ I did not kidnap you." He crossed his arms a tad bit annoyed.
"Right and I am extremely thankful." I bowed quickly to show my respect to the king. "I am honored to be staying in your palace."
He blushed a bit. Bowser?! Blushing?! Crazy right? "No no.. Its quite alright." He placed a clawed hand on my shoulder and I rose from
my half bent position.
"You sure?"
"Positive. I am happy to have a new guest!" He said with a big ole smile across his face.
With that grin I could help myself but to smile back.
"Now if you wouldnt mind heading out? I still gotta finish these papers." He said grunting a bit.
Giving me a pat on the shoulder and a wave I walked outside of the room and closed the decorated door behind me. I stared at the
door looking at it‚' why on earth...would he want ME staying here?'
"Master Jacob?" Geoff's voice had broken my concentration. He had a pleased look on his face‚"Everything went well I presume?"
I chuckled and nodded a bit‚"Of course! It was quite the experience‚ I didnt expect him to be hiring."
"Well of course. Even king bowser needs a new slave‚ or a new man here and there. Now come let us continue." Geoff said gesturing to
the right of the hall.
"Right.." I began to walk slowly behind Geoff as he led me down the grand hall.
The carpet had remained the same through the entire castle. The walls were decorated with lamps that looked like Bowser's claws
holding a bright orb‚ the occasional picture of him and bowser junior doing things together even a few with all the koopalings.
Soon after about 10 minutes we came across a different patterned carpet that extended from a bright blue door. It looked almost
identical to Bowser's except it was smaller and had bright white doorknobs. "Who's room is this?" I asked looking at the still rather large
door.
"Oh this room is Master Junior's." He said smiling‚" His favorite color was blue so we decided to repaint the door."
I looked a little closer to the door and you could tell that the red had been painted over. "Oh so it has. Would it be alright to introduce
myself?"
"Hm... I don't see why not." Geoff said with a smile‚"Just don't let him take advantage of you. He isn't quite as Kind as his father is."
"I'll keep that in mind." I knocked on the door still thinking about tacos for some reason‚ damn it‚ I need to FOCUS.
"Come in!!!" It sounded like two voice had answered. Who else could be in there? Was it a servant? Was it one of the koopalings? Or
was it a servant holding a ta- no!!! Focus!!! Just open the dang door!!!
With my curiosity peaked I opened the door with some difficulty. As I opened the door‚ the walls were painted white. No other colors‚
just white! His bed was a dark red and it was pushed against the wall‚ this bed was almost as big as two Bowsers put together! As my
eyes scanned the room I could see comic books‚ manga‚ and video games spread all throughout the room. So guess geekiness runs in
the family cause I looked up and saw two large been bags facing a wide screen 90" tv. Man was I jealous!! I wish there was a 90"
taco.....You know what not even mad.
I walked in side and closed the door behind me apparently Geoff had walked inside with me this time standing to the side of the door.
Wasnt entirely sure why he had come in Junior's room and not Bowser's but I was happy he did cause as soon as I turned around I
heard a demanding voice call to me. Or at least I think it was me.
"Hey! I need two more Root Beers on the double!!!" It was quite the manly voice still a bit squeaky but it was deep and a bit
intimidating.
"Yeah! Another box of Pepperoni pizza as well!!!" The other voice that called out wasnt as nice and smooth as the one before. This
voice sounded gruffer and more tough.
"R-ri-"
"Excuse me. Masters Roy and Junior but that is no way to talk to a guest." He said in a stern tone‚ something I didnt really expect from a
servant of the castle.
I herd to "acks" and gulps as the game paused. "S-sorry Geoff." Both the bean bags shifted as two tall muscled figures rose from their
seated place.
They turned and faced me and boy was I intimidated ‚ the one of the left had a face closer to bowsers but he stood alot thinner the king
himself But still was not one I would wanna mess with. He wore a bright blue shirt and some white khaki shorts‚"I'm Junior." He smiled
some but it looked like it was forced.
"Heya. I'm Roy! I'm the coolest of the group!" He said smiling widely his large glasses covering up a good majority of his face. But he
stood about a whole foot taller then Junior and was much more muscled. He had a black t-shirt on and wore long jeans. "Yeah dad told
us bout cha." He said his English a bit choppy but eh who was I to judge.
Roy was the first to walk over now that he was up close I could see he was about 7 feet tall. His brother was about the same height.
He extend his large hand to me and I smiled a bit grabbing his hand with my own and giving him a firm hand shake. He laughed and
shook back looking back to‚ I assumed was his brother‚"Hey bro this guy ain't a wuss. Nice firm handshake."
I blushed a bit as we let go and chuckled some‚"W-well can't be a wuss infront of others now can ya?"
"Yeah what ever." Junior sat back down on the bean bag and pulled out his phone and started texting.
"What's your name kid?" Roy asked ignoring his brother's bad attitude.
"I'm Jacob. My friends call me Jake though."
"Well Jake would ya like to join us in a game of brawl? I was kicking my bro's butt but I could use some fresh meat." He said the last
part jokingly.
"Sure! I love video games!" I said was a happy expression on my face.
"Great!" He led me over to the large tv‚ now that I could see over the bean bags it was quite a mess. There were bags of chips and
empty bottles of soda spread ALL over the place‚ along with opened packs of nutter butters‚ Oatmeal creampies‚ and about 3 stacks of
pizza boxes.
Roy pulled over a green beanbag chair‚"yes! My favorite color!" I got excited and plopped my self down in it.
Roy snorted a bit at my unusual excitement over a color and handed me a wii remote with the third square lit up with blue‚"Alright bud
you're gonna be player three."
"Hmph...this should be easy." Junior scoffed a bit.
I didnt know what his problem was‚ did I offend some ancient turtle law? Did he read my mind and tell I was thinking about tacos?!
Dang it!!! I screwed up!!!
"Hey Geoff? Could you please order us some pepperoni pizzas?" Roy looked back to Geoff behind his glasses he had pleading eyes but
you couldnt really see past the tinted lenses so it was useless.
"Hm...I suppose. I will be standing outside making the call. But you better be nice to Jacob while I'm gone do you understand? I dont
want a single hair harmed on his body."
"Yes sir." Both of them said on happy the other not caring.
Soon Geoff walked out and used the house phone to call the kitchen.
"Alright! You know who you're gonna play as?" Roy asked with enthusiasm.
"Um...I'll play as Pikachu." I picked my character and changed it to the green headband.
"I call Ike!" Roy said.
"Totally got Marth." Junior said excited and looked to the tv with a fire in his eyes.
"Alright let's do three stocks And we'll play on the final destination map." Roy said pressing the buttons.
Soon the match started and we started brawling. Roy was slashing me up pretty good‚ when junior came over and knock him to the
side. I managed to get a thunder off knocking them both back and doing a volt tackle at Roy sending him off the edge. That was one
stock down two to go.
"Dang! Nice moves Jake. But that was a lucky shot." He said grinning as he respawned.
Then Junior came over and started sword slashing me getting my damage percent up quite high. He was knocking me around but I
managed to get out of the line of fire. Eventually after a good ten minutes Roy was outta the game and now it was me versus junior.
Both had one stock left.
"Oh hoho! Looks like the new guy is giving you a run fer yer money!" Roy said giving his brother a playful punch to the shoulder.
"Yeah looks like I underestimated you." Junior said looking over at me with a kinder smile.
"Well dont get distracted now! We got a game to finish!" I said with excitement.
"Right!"
We both had charged at each other hitting with all the characters moves. Punching thunders‚ sword slashes‚ thunder ‚ eventually by
pure luck I had managed to kick junior off the stage. I won the battle.
"WOO!!!" I threw my arms up in the air in triumph.
"Wow! That was an amazing game!!!" Roy said clapping both of us on the back.
"Great job kid! You kicked my ass." He extended his hand and I shook it.
"Hey how old are you anyways? Need ta know if I need to keep my language pg er not." Roy said elbowing me.
"I'm 19." I said proudly.
Both of them looked shocked and surprised‚"Really?"
"Yeah? How old did you think I was?" I asked.
"Well...15?" Roy chimed a bit embaressed.
"13 for me." Junior said face palming.
I groaned and held my face in my hands‚"uggh....even with koopas.. Guess I'm not safe anywhere."
"What do ya mean?" Roy asked a bit confused.
"Everyone thinks I'm younger then I am."
"Well ya do. But dont think of it as a bad thing!" He said smiling.
"I guess you're right.."
"Hey why dont you show us where you're staying?" Roy said in a hurry to change the subject.
"Sure! Its nothing special though." I said struggling to get out of the beanbag.
After I had gotten up and out of the beanbag we walked outside and the two head Geoff lead us back to my room...cause I couldn't
remember where it was.
Again it was about 20 minutes till we reached the room. "Well..here we are." I said a bit nervous.
"Huh..havent been over here in a while." Roy looked around the outside of door.
"Yeah they redid everything." Junior chimed in.
I opened up the door and walked in the three koopas following me in line. There really wasnt much room so the two koopalings sat on
my bed while Geoff stood beside them.
"What do you think?" I ask sitting down at my desk chair.
"Its nice and small." Junior said bouncing some on the bed.
"Personally I wouldn't wanna sleep in here." Roy said flat.
"W-well. Yeah someone of your stature would probably want a bigger room." I said yawning a bit and laying my head on my desk. I
hadn't realized what time it was. I had gotten here around 4 pm and it was already dark.
"I'm gonna hit the sack. Thanks for having me guys." I said smiling to the drowsily."
"It was nice meeting you as well Jacob." They had said that one after another and left the room with a goodnight.
I flopped on my bed and soon had fallen asleep not even bothering to change clothing. With Geoff just standing at the side with a
blanket already over his arm‚ he swung it over and layed the blanket on me‚"Good night Master Jacob." He turned out the lights and
closed the door behind him.
It was the second day I was staying in the Koopa's Castle, light shone in through the barred windows and hit against my pale white
and drooling face. I was sleeping on the well furnished bed while drooling on my pillow, I would have just stayed in my bed if it wasn't
for the rather loud and strong knocking.
“Nghh...Who is it?” I asked in a rather groggy sounding voice slowly sitting up underneath the cotton sheets.
“Yo! It's Roy and Jr! Can we come in?”
I smacked my lips a bit and scratched at my stomach. I opened and closed my eyes rather tiredly,”Mpph...I don't need any cookies.”
Laying back down on my bed I curled up underneath the silk sheets.
The door swung open and I could hear two sets of heavy quick footsteps make their way inside my room.
The voice that spoke first was gruff and irritated...That was Roy,”Come on ya lazy kid! Here at the Koopa residence wake up at nine am
sharp! Ready ta tackle da day! Now get up!” He reached at the covers and pulled them off me with ease.
I closed my eyes tight and curled up in a tight ball in my white t-shirt and undies,”Go away Jared....I want to sleep...”
“Jared?” Roy growled a bit,” I ain't no Jared! GET YER BUTT OUTTA BED!”
I shot up in bed looking tiredly at the large koopa, oh right...I'm at the King's castle...and these are his kids...OH CRAP! “CRAP! S-Sorry
about that Roy...I just had a rough day yesterday...So much happened in one day, I just had some trouble remembering...ya know
where I was.”
“What did you hit your head or something?” Jr retorted with his arms crossed. He didn't look like he cared but he didn't look like he
didn't care....I think...Man I'm sleepy. I wonder what's for breakfast.
“No I didn't. Anyways...Why did you wake me up? Are we going somewhere?” I asked sliding off my rather large bed and towards my
suitcase.
“Oh yeah! We're going to Toad Town!!!” Roy grinned happily gently punching Jr's arm,”Jr here burnt all of our batteries last night after I
kicked his sorry butt in Smash Bros.”
Jr blushed a bright red and turned around no longer facing me,”S-Shut it Roy. Me and you both know you cheated! What ever...I don't
see why we have to bring him along. It's not like he needs anything in town.”
I sighed a bit after sliding on my shorts and started looking for my socks with out saying another word.
Roy rubbed at his chin and started going through my suitcase grabbing all of my socks, including the ones stuffed in my shoes and burnt
them all in his hand,”Oh look at that...He needs socks.” He grinned widely.
“H-Hey!!! What the heck man?!” I couldn't stop him. One he was using fire, Two he was twice my size. Though something did catch my
interest,”Wait...Did you just make fire come out of your hands?”
Roy nodded rather smugly still keeping his grin plastered all over his face,”Duh! All eight of us have these kinda powers. All of them
dealing with fire power! Though none of us are as powerful as dad or Jr here! They have the good ole fire breath!” The sunglass
wearing koopa laughed a bit. His tall form was wearing a tight fitting black shirt and baggy jeans, the same went for Jr except he was
wearing flipflops.
“Erm...Why aren't you wearing shoes Roy? We are going into town aren't we?” I asked curiously pulling out my own flipflops and sliding
those on.
“He never wears shoes unless it's a formal event.” Jr stated.
“Yeah shoes are so confining! No fun in wearing them!!! Anyways are you ready or what?” Roy stated crossing his arms a bit.
“Yeah I'm ready. How far is Toad Town from here?” I stood up and started doing some morning stretches, As my body was sorta tense
from my rude awakening.
“Hmm...An...Hour?” Roy half stated half asked Jr.
“I thought it was two.” Jr said looking at his younger brother.
I hung my head in shame, I had been two hours off my initial route. How on earth did I get off course?! I was for sure I was following
that old koopa's directions perfectly. He said to turn left at the cedar tree and then walk half a mile to the Bus stop then get off at Toad
Town. WAIT! I got off at Koopa Crown not Toad Town! Crap! Well...Guess it doesn't matter anymore.
“Jake?” Roy tapped my shoulder.
“Hmm...Oh! S-Sorry..Spaced out.” I laughed nervously before looking back at Roy,”So...If it takes an hour or two to get there are we
walking?”
“Oh? No! We're taking the clown copter.”
Clown Copter...I hate hate clowns... I really like tacos though...Though I love pizza a lot more. Nope no! Stay on track! Clown Copter
hate clowns! Maybe there wont be any clowns.
Apperently I had gotten lost in thought again because I felt my world turn upside down after a few moments and watched the ground
move beneath me and cause me to snap back to reality. Roy had thrown me over his shoulder and was carrying me through out the
halls,”H-Hey!!! I can walk on my own!”
“Well Well Well look who's finally awake.” Jr said annoyed,” You were just standing there mumbling to yourself and we couldn't get you
back to reality. So...Roy just picked you up. I suggested just leaving you there.”
“Jr woulda shut up? Ah told ya! We are taking Jake to see the town!” Roy said looking back at his brother with an angered look on his
face.
“Alright Alright.” Jr sighed a bit,”I give.”
Roy smiled a bit and finally after ten minutes put me down outside on the rather well kept grass infront of a rather large cup looking
barrel,”So..This is the clown copter?” I walked around it noticing the clown face before returning to the two tall koopas,”How does it fly?”
“Heh...Get in!” Roy stated opening up the door gesturing with his free hand.
I walked in and took a seat on the copter, there seemed to be a lot of room and then a steering wheel at the front with two pedals
underneath it. Jr sat down acrossed from me and Roy took the wheel.
“Ready?” He asked pushed the two pedals down and a whirring sound could be heard underneath the “copter”. Suddently the Copter
started to pull up causing me to suddenly grip at the sides of the coptor.
I looked over the edge slowly and saw that we were moving as we slowly elevated into the air. I quickly ducked my head back into the
copter and closed my eyes,”O-Oh man...”
“What's the issue? You scared of heights?” Jr asked nonchalantly.
I quickly opened my eyes and gripped my seat trying to act cool,”N-No...C-Course not...Why..woul...would I be afraid? I just...Have a
headache..” I sighed a bit and leaned into the seat looking up at the sky trying to keep my eyes on one cloud to keep my mind busy. I
can do this. Jr doesn't like me and I don't want to give him another reason to.
The next few hours were the worst in my entire life. Roy had overheard me and Jr's little exchange and decided it was a good idea to do
tricks and more, I think my fingers are bleeding from how tight I gripped the seat.
After we landed I released my tight grip and looked down at my hands that weren't bleeding but stung like crazy I stuck my hands in my
pockets and smiled nervously,”T-That wasn't so bad.” I chuckled nervously.
“Yeah? Then I can go even faster next time!!!” Roy said rather eagerly.
“No you wont. You'll waste more gas then necessary.” Jr got out of the coptor followed by a whining and complaining Roy who begged to
go at least a little faster but Jr just refused to budge.
I followed out of the Coptor and let out a sigh in relief,”Hey...I need to use-Wow!!!”
We had landed just at the entrance of the town and it was a lot larger then I thought It was. There were tons of other buildings that
were pretty tall. Toads running everywhere trying to run the town and not only were there toads but many other species were there,
including anthros and other mushroom kingdom residence.
I could feel my hands stinging a bit from the seat,”Hey guys? Would you min-” My stomach let out a rather loud gurgle that could be
heard from a few feet away cause some toads gave me an odd look before resuming their business.
“Someone's hungry.” Roy laughed a bit.
Jr couldn't help but snicker,”There's a burger joint just a few blocks from here. Wanna get something from there?”
I would rather eat pizza but what the heck, let's try a local joint,”Sure! That sounds nice! First...I need to pee.”
“What?”
“I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed to pee like really bad.” I stood there sweating nervously.
“Ugh...Don't pee yourself, go in the forest. We'll be waiting here.” Roy stated a bit,”Hurry up we are hungry.”
I waved to them and started running into the forest holding my crotch trying to hold in my urine stream.
As they watched me run off into the forest a worried looking toad walked over to them and coughed before talking,”Excuse me! You
aren't letting him go out there on his own are you?”
They looked down at the toad and shrugged a bit,”Why not? It's not that far.”
“Yeah...But rumor has it that the...Sword Twins are out there.”
Roy got down at the toad's level and removed his glass before giving him a harsh glare,” You better not be lying or I'll burn you here and
now.”
The toad shivered in terror,”I promise!!! They escaped last week... They've been keeping refuge deep in the forest and preying on any
new guests that try to come into town.”
“Crap....Jr come on we need to make sure Jake's okay.” Roy started running off into the forest quickly followed by Jr who had a blank
look on his face.
Meanwhile in the forest, I was taking a pee break. I had finally found a try to release my urine, it took me a while due to the scary
Copter ride I just had,”Aaah...That feels nice.” After my potty break was done I pulled up my pants and zipped up. “Alright...Time to go
back.”
“I don't think so boy. Not with out paying the toll.” A voice spoke before the holder of the voice's owner pressed the flat end of the blade
against my throat,”Surely....you wouldn't mind paying a few bucks right?”
I looked up best I could and say a tall figure dressed completely in black only his eyes were showing and they had an evil look to them,
a look that said 'I'll kill you if you scream.'. Though I didn't really feel like screaming didn't really seem like a good idea and plus I was
really hungry. Maybe this guy holding a knife to my throat had some.
“Excuse me sir? Do you have any food? I'm reaaaallly hungry.” I looked up at him.
“What do you think this is kid? A buffet?! You better fork over your wallet or I'm gonna ski-” He stopped mid sentence and gripped my
hair tight before pressing the blade firmly against my neck,”Don't take another step.”
I looked forward to see who was intruding on our conversation and saw Roy walking toward me and him,”Hello there. I do believe you
have someone who doesn't belong to you.”
“So what's it matter? Take another step and I'll slit his throat!” The character grinned behind his mask,”Don't you know who I am? I'm
Leo one of the Sword Twins.” His sword flipped in his grip and pressed the sharp end against my cheek gently cutting into it, making
some blood drip down,”If you know what's good for ya. You wont come any closer.”
Another form came next to Roy it was of course Jr who had murderous intent behind his eyes,”You cut anymore into him. I'll burn you.”
Well atleast the intent wasn't aimed at me surprise right?
Leo smirked and pressed the blade against my other cheek making another cut,”Huh...really now? I don't see yo-”
I didn't even see him move but Jr had dissapeared and reappeared infront of me and the bad man. He had his hand gripped tight
against his throat causing him to drop the sword and me as well.
Jr looked at The Sword Twin,”Do you know what fear is?”
