My daughter wants to be one of the characters for hollloween and that's how I discovered this book. I have been an anime fan for 30+ years and I love the old yet new freshness of this book. I read it online but will be buying it for my colleections and look forward to a ton of  issues to come. I hope you get ll the cult fandom and success DB, Naruto, and others have gotten.

So, I just read chapter 2, and, artistically speaking, I really liked it. Your backgrounds are on point, the perspective is nice, everything's lookin' good. There's that one page where Jay's unzipping his jacket and walking towards that dood, and it was looking real cool. Quite impressive.

But as I was reading some parts of it, I was mildly uncomfortable. This is for two main reasons that really don't have to do with each other. One is technical, and I think it'd be good to take into consideration. The other is personal, and you should ignore it entirely.

For one thing, the dialogue has dramatic ups and downs in terms of what the students are saying. I really appreciate the accuracy in the slang the kids are using in their speech. There's one page where, I believe it's Jordain Ray, is watching the fight from the crowd and I actually giggled when they called him 'night crawler.'
There are some points, however, where the dialogue gets awkward. It mostly comes from Josh, so it's fine. I think it adds to his character. However, it sometimes, very rarely comes from characters I don't expect it from. That may have been more of an issue in the last chapter than in this one.
One example would be when Josh mentions Jay's 'parry attack.' Some of the things Josh says is very out of place with the rest of the dialouge and it's kinda odd. Again, since it's mostly Josh doing it, I actually applaud it. It does add to his character.
"I'm not cheap, I'm expensive." That was great for Josh because of how stupid it was. Is Maino, however, were to say a serious line, something really out of character, it'd be jarring. Thankfully, I'm sure he didn't this chapter, so I'm sure this is something that's not even an issue anymore.

And the other thing, when Lois was about to rush in there and is stopped by Maino to salvage Jay's reputation, I expected her to retort with 'who the fuck cares about his rep?' I was surprised to see that was not the case. Apparently reputation is actually an important thing to this group, and that startled me. Going into this comic I really thought Jay and Maino were kids who really couldn't give two shits about what others thought as they hung back, watched anime, smoked a spliff, and did whatever. I could understand Clifton caring about his reputation (then again, I don't know much about him yet, so I dunno) but after I finished this chapter, I wondered about the kids I knew who were very much like these characters. This isn't anything to concern yourself with, just, I didn't expect it.

I'll wait up for chapter 3, I'd really like to see how it unfolds. I was hesitant to post this comment because I myself don't really think I'm in a position to comment like this, I mean, I'm not as good of a comic artist as you at all, and some people really don't like criticism. Please do note that I'm not trying to be a dick, this is me really appreciating your work and voicing my opinions.
