Sometimes you wonder
why it seems that life seems meaningless
that everybody cannot see
that the world is what we want it to be
why blame the world if you do nothing to change it

Sometimes I look up at the night sky
and it feels so peaceful like the world is meant to be
I wonder why I must feel the pain of this world
why can't I just be like everyone else
and pretend the world is screwed up because of others
not because we also let things slide

Sometimes I wonder why I bother fighting the good fight
why suffer and help others
when no one else seems to care
why do I do the things I do
why can't I just let the world be

I guess sometimes I do see the pointlessness of it all
but if I didn't try
I didn't fight the fight that will change the status quo
then I am just as bad as those who let pointless suffering go on
those who turn a blind eye to it all

I guess in the end
the truth is I care too much
if that is a flaw then so be it
I will fight for what I believe in even if no one else cares
because it's who I am
who I choose to be
and in the end
that is the choice I rather make
the person I had rather be.
