Wisdom is sometimes gained through bitter painBut that is life
We learn things the hard way
Or not at all
Wisdom stops us from doing wrong again and again
But sometimes we just don't learn
And it takes a few knocks
Before we realise what we do wrong
Wisdom only comes
If we stop lying to ourselves
And admit to ourselves our greatest hopes and fears
Because if we don't do that
We will forever live in torment and doubt
I have finally realised that
And am taking my own advice
I now seek the truth in my heart
For only then will wisdom be gained
And I will be set free from my troubles

ok so yeah good i like reading thougts and what people think (your poem and what people have said) Idk when they say ignorance is bliss i kinda think of being a kid and the happy (in my head completely made up blissful world of imagination) childhood but as you poem points out learning is unfortunately needed

Good lessons in themselves -- well done. I often write down the lessons I learn, too, and sometimes in the form of poetry. When it comes down to it, those of us who can think for ourselves and take responsibility for our actions give our own best advice. It's important to know that with pain comes wisdom and understanding. It's important to catch the reasons. Otherwise, we render our suffering meaningless. Very nice piece.

Thank you. Sometimes it is very hard to swallow ur own advice but it is necessary no. Pain comes but it leaves leaving u smarter and stronger. Sometimes it is almost too easy to forget that. Yes we must learn from each moment of pain no matter how hard it is. Thank u again and I am glad u like it.

I think the first step to wisdom is admitting all ur imperfections. Trust me we r lucky to make a mistake only once, we normally make them again n again.

I have made the same mistake again n again but I learn different things each time. Sometimes to admit to urself who u really r can b very scary but it is better tha way. Ignorance is not bliss in this case.

Very very good poem..Lots of Truisms in there..I believe, though, your biggest obstacle, will be finding what you really feel inside..You'll still be battling all the aforementioned beliefs and problems in the poem, and yet you'll be finding them with an even more elusive subject..Good luck

I doubt I was at that business any earlier than you were, and I'm still looking from time to time..It's tough business..You'll have to decide how you'll judge yourself..But of course you knew that..Don't spend too much time of your vacation pondering this stuff..
