Description
OOF, my last reference was 5 years ago already?? I was so proud of that and now I kind of hate it. Wonder how long before I hate this one!
It was time for an update, anyway. I’ve been noticing the old ref didn’t really show the scrappy coyote anatomy how it should.
Kiso’s my personal avatar, virtually unchanged but for minor tweaks for well over a decade now. I was tempted to put design notes on the sheet, but I kind of like it simple. So here’s bio and design notes –
Name: Kisota (often just called Kiso)
Species: Coyote (one of the larger prairie/woodland subspecies – eg, plains, mountain, eastern.)
Physical traits / Design notes:
Face: Large, expressive, vibrantly amber-gold eyes with greenish limbal rings. Average coyote features (not too exaggerated like a desert coyote or something). If you want some top canines showing, that’s cool! I dig the snaggle fangs.
Build: Shallow chest, long legs, scrawny and scrappy – note the slightly visible ribs. Small and wiry. Overall a messy, lanky trashdog. Not your buff, majestic calendar creature.
Fur is grizzled / dark-ticked silver. Pretty normal coyote agouti, but heavily on the grey side with fairly rich markings.
I’m okay with people playing with the design a little for fun – add some scars on the face and paws, take some fur chunks out, tatter the ears a bit, it’s all good.
Typical expression - Cheerful, playful, mischievous, sarcastic, tricksy, laughing little dork! I want drawing her to be fun. Think bones, dead stuff, wide open spaces.
Please respect my art; this is my personal avatar and not for other people to use. Thanks!
