Well, I want to thank every Deviant who commented, faved, in particulary who suggested my work ^^
This is the first time I receive so much feedback, it's a real pleasure but in another way it makes me love more than never my first favers, watchers and commentators
But I love you too, don't worry
I also want to precise that this idea was born when I thought about all these kings who have hanged so much innocent people.
So it's not an incitation to Anarchy but Vendetta & Revolution ^^
EditΒ²: For all those who said that crowned people will become kings, be sure that kings who comes from the people, who suffers with him, and thanks to that understands his needs and suffering will certainly leads one hundred times better that all these born-kings.
For all those who will read this comment ( omg I hope I didn't make mistakes ,_, Sorry if I said weird things, I'm not english xD ) I wish you a nice day !

John Wilkes Boothe final words to Abraham Lincoln before pulling the trigger: Thus unto Tyrants. Fun fact: the reason that man shot the president had nothing to do with the civil war or slavery... but had EVERYTHING to do with the fact that "Honest Abe" practically took a steaming shite on the bill of rights to win the civil war...

Hm, I agree with the implied notion of liberty and democracy, but there is a saying, and it holds true to this day: "The mob is fickle." With power strictly in the hands of the people, there can be no way to enforce accountability if something goes wrong and a majority of the populace is to blame. To maintain a productive society, true democracy cannot work. People with no understanding of the law cannot be entrusted to govern their own nation. The Founding Fathers of the United States understood that, and that is why there exists a system of democratic republics (representative government).

It's a very interesting comment, thank you
But can we really say that actual democraties deserves this name ? I'm not so sure. Well, it was a great step, and we can't deny that good things were made, BUT it's like actual governments turns into everything but not something democratic. These kings I'm talk about are those damned corrupted politicians who likes power like leeches likes blood.
They have to go out. They definitely cannot be able to understand the suffering of the people, and even if they know it, it's not their matter ! What they do is making false promises to delude the population, then, after their election, they try to find a target, a scapegoat, in order to put all people's fair on it. Terrorism, strangers, everything.
Then they act like they will protect people, they will give him the feeling of being protected, just by accepting everything that the government will need. And behind this apparently preoccupation of the population's welfare, they do nothing. Oh no sorry, in France, the president uses a ninja hidden law to increase himself his own wages. This is simply epic.
What people need is to destroy the notion of "politics". We don't need politicians. We need people who will act for the people. Anyone is able to decide. But the mistake that we don't have to do is to give the power to a group composed by similar persons. A major council of 7, 10 persons or a triumvirat will be nice, plus other minor councils.
And if we crown the people by this way, we will make sure that they will not have the idea of keeping this crown or loving it too much because it will have regular power transitions.
I don't think, I'm deeply convinced that they are a lot of other ways to live in this world.

but without government, would there be law? Quite frankly, I find that most human beings have a... erm... "pre-programmed" set of morals from day one. As a general rule, most people wouldn't harm another person, or steal, etc... So I often find myself asking, what's the point of law and governance? And hell, if someone is wrong, in the sense he's caught murdering someone... well, without law, you'll find that more and more people would be more motivated to take responsibility for their own safety, no? Someone kicks down my door, he has a nasty surprise waiting for him... I would like to think that without law, people will actually begin to take SELF-accountability a bit more seriously. But back to my point, if someone's caught murdering... well I don't think the "mob" would be too fickle about lynching his ass, now would they? I think that's more than enough accountability...

I appreciate your optimism and faith for the species, but without law, there is anarchy and chaos. Individual human beings cannot be trusted to simply govern their own lives entirely without fear of consequences for whatever harmful actions they may take.
π: 0 β©: 1
MeanderingBeing In reply to Hylanvahr [2011-02-11 06:19:06 +0000 UTC]
Why does everyone assume anarchy is bad? And no, I have absolutely no faith in the human condition. And yes, they will be accountable for their own actions. You see, where I live, no-one get's robbed and we have few police... you know why? Because practically everyone owns a gun... or five. Without law, people may do whatever they want to protect themselves. Would you want to rob me, know I probably own at least a home-defense shotgun, as well as every neighbor on the block? Fuck no! You'd move to New York City and rob someone there, knowing that THE LAW banned fire-arms. The irony of this situation is that, legally, if someone actually did break into my house, I am supposed to "retreat under the law..." Or put simply, I cannot defend my home or family without going to jail. I am not "ALLOWED" by law to shoot the schmuck coming into my home... Now explain to me, how is that consequential to the criminal? It doesn't matter what crime he commits, I would still be the criminal for defending myself. Listen mate, all states have ever done is oppress people. No government has ever united anyone, made anyone safer, or inspired peace. In EVERY example throughout history, you'll find that they've only done the opposite... So my friend, while I understand your lack of faith in the human condition, I will have to disagree. In my home, any harmful act will have dire consequences, with or without the law. I consider that self-governance.
Besides, Anarchy is not such a bad thing. Chaos isn't either. With stability, we have stagnation. That which isn't challenged grows weak. With chaos, the species might actually evolve beyond this ape-like semblance of "rational" behaviour... either that, or drive itself into extinction... I'll take either or.

I'm surely not the best deviant in this place, not at all, and I know I will never have the level of those who are in "the top".
Does it mean that I don't have the opportunity to spread my ideas or dreams by my creations, even if they aren't "technically" wonderful, a lot of persons seems to be agree with.
But well, if you prefer to see in the DD a wonderful and well executed pink poney with awsome details, it's your right too, unfortunately we can't satisfy everyone. Tomorrow maybe ?

I'm not trashing on your deviation, although I could point out that "hanging the king" rarely leads to "crowning the people." I'm just saying that I think DDs should be given out for great art, with or without a message.
I have nothing against you or this specific piece. It just irritates me in general when DDs are awarded for the message rather than the artistic qualities of the submission. I completely sympathize with people who don't feel they are at "the top" of the site, like you said, because I'm not one of them, but I spend hours and hours on every piece I submit. I'll never get a DD though because my art isn't about recycling or pollution or democracy. Don't you see how that's frustrating?
π: 0 β©: 1
Silver786 In reply to punker--rocker [2011-02-09 06:12:18 +0000 UTC]
Ok, but in that case why don't you go here [link] and ask for the reasons of this selection instead of comments here if you're not interested by my deviation ?
It wasn't my choice, someone who's very nice just see my work, like it, and suggest it, and then a Text Art & Typography Gallery Moderator accepts it. That's all.
I've never expected to be chosed one day because some of my works are not politically correct.
And art with messages aren't always about pollution, global warming and all this stuff, but enough deep to makes the watcher feels the autor's feelings. A creation without message is empty in my opinion.
But yeah, if for you, getting a DD is a sort of consecration or thing like that, I suppose that it's frustrating. But keep in mind that if you make art pieces in order to obtain people recognition, it' not sure that it will works well.
Your work is not bad, even if personaly I'm not attempted to feature people who makes such nice comments.
