Description
Crap, the constitution isn't copyrighted, is it? Am I allowed to do this?Okay, long story short: I tried to make a poster of the first amendment for my apartment, and I tried to do all the lettering by hand (!!). As you can imagine, it was a disaster. So I painted over it and used Photoshop instead. (I would give my non-existant first born for Quark or Illustrator or something USEFUL, let me tell you). The red canvas is waiting for me to do something with it, but I don't know what, yet.
EDIT: Fixed some spelling and typographical errors. Thanks, San.

Welp I dunno what you're talking about. its mostly the public's fault for not calmly exercising this right, and when people do, communities always view taking action against the government as extreme and unnecessary :/

Funny thing is, the government nowadays is going completely against their own words compared to back then. You can't gift someone and take it back, you know. If you give the gift of freedom, then let them cherish it for their life.

see, the only problem is that most people are too damn stupid to understand what this says, since it's not put into dumbed-down third grade English.

The right to free conscience. That is what this boils down to. With few exceptions, you can say anything, believe anything, assemble for it, write about it, so long as in the process no one is harmed or has their rights violated. Everyone has these rights protected and guaranteed, from the most ridiculous fools to the most sane persons. This is the most important of our rights as citizens, tying with the 14th Amendment rights, which guarantees all the rights otherwise mentioned in the Constitution.
And I believe the Constitution belongs to the people, so it's already public domain.

Saw the opening and had to take it. Dumb ass still thinks that she has no idea what she was talking about, though. LOL! Losers in the crowd didn't even get her point, either, and they are supposed to know the law ...

Good for him. That's still one more than Christine O'Donnell knows.

She knows them all. She even knows that 'separation of church and state is NOT in the Constitution, LOL!

Hi! I absolutely love this. I came across this little deviantART site and love to look at the things that are created. Your piece here is amazing. I'm putting it on my wish list hoping that I can send my husband over to buy it from you. Maybe if I drop enough hints he'll listen.
Thanks for creating awesomeness.

The first Amendment; basically saying, "Go nuts" to those that love freedom. I love that little document and the huge impact that it's made.

You cannot copyright the Constitution or the Bill of Rights, though as to whether or not laws are copyright the governing body which drafts them is currently being debated. HOWEVER, you may create an original piece of art with it as it is (currently) effectively public domain which is under your copyright. Or so I read the law. Of course, consult a legal professional for actual advice, but I don't foresee a problem with this.

In case you didn't know, all government stuff is public property. Some government photographers are sad about this, because the bad-ass photos they take for the government aren't copyrighted to them alone - they're for everybody!
Stay away from the Canadian one, unless you read it all in its entirety.
I like the mix of fonts and how you emphasized certain words by bolding them and making them larger.

Isn't it "to petition THE government"? hehe Or maybe it's too early for me to be thinking.
That's a neat thing out of which to make a poster. ^_^ And I like the style.
