Description 3D Printing is so cool!

I have received the first shipment of items from my new shop. This is so much fun! I build a 3D model, then upload it to their site, order, have it printed out and mailed to me as a real physical object! You loose a little detail on the itsy bitsy stuff, but I was surprised at how much I was able to get.

It's my love of crafts and my love of 3d combined! Now you can get that item you've always wanted... customized jewelry, miniature doll props, and well just about anything really! I even saw someone selling real life sized car engine parts on the site.

The item above was commissioned by Gabihime from the forum, Den of Angels. ( a BJD forum)

You too can commission custom made items. You approve the model before it goes to print. then you can either buy it on my shapeways 3D printing shop and have it mailed to you (shipping is free worldwide, yeah!), or get the full finish, where I buy it from the shop and then paint and detail it before sending it to you.

Items range anywhere from 5$-300$. It depends on size and detail. As an example, the above item is simple, yet large so it came out to be around 75$

Check out my premade items here! [link]
Other models printed:

The largest I can make something is 70x38x58cm, If it needs to be bigger I can make it in multiple parts, but it gets expensive pretty quick. I recommend smaller items or smaller scaled items. I tend to do 1/3 scale and smaller.

silverbeam In reply to drakkina08 [2011-02-19 08:49:25 +0000 UTC]

Hmm if I get some more sailor moon interested people I might as well do all the little objects like their transformation wands etc.

but for now I got the locket up!

silverbeam In reply to drakkina08 [2011-02-19 04:49:49 +0000 UTC]

animals are too much work and not much use in the doll miniature stuff.

I modeled Sakura's wand. I'll post it up sometime.

i will try to come up with more but like this
[link]
kind of cartoonish but they actually made this out of paper and then the person folded it its what game me the idea of animals

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

silverbeam In reply to drakkina08 [2011-02-19 07:42:11 +0000 UTC]

ah, well amie, is cool.

I don't really want to do animals because of fur and stuff. Would detract from the realism.

Although if someone wanted a model of their fav characters then I would do it per bases of a commission. too much work otherwise, but it's always an idea if I run out of more normal stuff to do.
