Why do I always default to drawing the egg when I want to try something new?

I don't know, but I'm pleasantly surpriesed by the result.

I usually draw with rather thick lineart, but this time I wanted to get more of a panting style, I guess?

I think I did pretty well for the fact that that's the first time I drew with no lineart at all
