Korbin wrested another picture from me. And he wanted a rather majestic one.So, I was sick all Sunday, and this was what I worked on... I would have posted it earlier, but Phairie doesn't have internet. I didn't even have cell phone service, either.
I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with the ground... I had two different layers of different kinds of grass and dirt before I finally settled on this one. I rather like it.
Ignore Korbin's hands. Something happened... and I have no idea what it was.

the colors and the texture, especially of the hair skin, are exquisite.
However, the subject and the background do not fit together especially well, making them look a bit flat, which is lame considering how much depth you put into them. I would suggest adding a lighter soft edge on the edges against the sky next time you do such a piece. Do you have the background down as you color? Changing background colors causes the eye to reinterpret foreground colors and may make them clash.
Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful piece! I just hate to see something as silly as the background take away from that.

Probably something like climbing on the horse too for a free ride.... or pelting Korbin with flowers or...little rocks.... or anything else generally annoying lD;
