Description First place contest prize for *fakethislife Robyn requested a picture of her stallion Ts'oow and his son Ulysses as a baby playing. I was actually somewhat inspired by the country song "Watching You" by Rodney Atkins about how his son mimics all he does and such. It's a very fun song so I wanted a playful, happy atmosphere. Sorry that the foreground looks a little meh. I need to learn how to draw clumpy dirt--or at least find the patience. Ulysses *could* look a little better, but I never draw babies so I'm pretty pleased. He looks so much better colored. And I really like T'soow even though my scanner ruined how bright his coat really is. Ah well. I'm still happy with it. I love the mountains in the background especially.

They're so pretteh ^^ I think you did a good job on Ulysses. Foals are hard to draw. The poses are awesome as well. You succeded in creating a very playful atmosphere

The smooth shading of the mountains is very beautiful, and the coloring of the colt is extremely striking. Ts'oow's ear is a bit small, but his mane and tail are very flowy.

The foal's pose is both graceful and dynamic, and I like how his tail is slightly to one side, as if he were wagging it. I'm very impressed by the background: the blue of the river compliments the blue in the sky, and provides a little contrast to the eathier tones of the foreground (jeesh, I'm talking like an art critic! Still, this is good practise for my art A Level)
