Hey Silver, I know this is a little old, but a question. How well would this coloring technique work if I use it on a graphite and charcoal scanned sketch?

Just click on the "Photoshop CS 2" link. You have to choose between the Mac and the Windows Version.
It's free.

I tried the tutorial, but every time step 7 fails. How do you make it look like fur? Yours seems so soft, and I just don't understand how you do that step exactly! please tell me?

Good constructive tutorial . you get an extra plus for being a tutorial explainer that shows which layer you are using,a s both "normal, colour and overlay" is a good pedagogic learning tool here that helps increase ones understanding.

Thank you for posting this! I have been working on a pretty detailed piece for some time now and it's been hard for me to finish because the method I used is painstakingly slow and tedious.

Silverfox5213 In reply to Galimekh-Productions [2011-10-10 01:42:24 +0000 UTC]

No prob
This method is very useful if you have a lot of colors to deal with.
