Personality:

Aurora is a nerdy tomboy who loves stretching her muscles almost as much as her brain. She approaches all situations (not related to magic) with an absurd amount of energy and enthusiasm. On the negative side, she can be a bit scatterbrained and often forgets things of varying importance.

Background:

Aurora is a unicorn, but magic is not her strong suit. Despite lessons from her father, brother, Twilight, Celestia, and many other teachers, she has never gotten the hang of it. In fact, all those countless lessons only served to frustrate her into swearing off magic forever. Instead, she started focusing her energy on making things that did what she couldn't get her magic to do for her. While this may seem to be a roundabout way of doing things, it has led to some interesting devices that have helped ponies (especially the ones without magic) around town. Of course, she has as many failures as she does successes. It doesn't bother her too much though. She sees those failures as learning opportunities and recovers from them quickly. She's still not ready to apply the same attitude to magic though.

Notes:

Rainbow Dash's family does not normally live in Ponyville. Rainbow recently bought a vacation home there though so she could visit her friends more often with her family.

She'd really like to make an invention that would allow her to fly like the majority of her family members.

Like her mom, she is a natural athlete and will often participate in marathons and other atheletic events for fun.

Aurora is a huge bookworm. She loves books. All kinds of books! She just wishes she had more room for all of them.

Aurora and Rose are twins. Aurora is a few minutes older.

Rainbow Dash

Aurora thinks her mom is really cool and will proudly tell that to everypony she meets. Rainbow Dash certainly doesn't mind the praise either. They get along well and will sometimes enter athletic competitions together.

Prince Blueblood

Blueblood isn't exactly thrilled that Aurora has chosen to be an inventor. He feels that his daughter should have a more "appropriate" job where she's not in danger of drowning in a sea of various knick knacks and thingamabobs. That being said, he still can't help but feel a rush of pride when she shows him one of her finished inventions.

Flourishing Dream

Flourish is the smartest pony Aurora knows. She looks up to him and likes to pester him for help on her inventions. She's also more in tune with Flourish's feelings than anypony else and would like to one day be able to help him return to society.

Rainbow Rose

Rose is a bit too girly for Aurora sometimes. While they generally get along really well, Aurora checks out a bit mentally if Rose babbles on too long. That being said, they go pretty much everywhere together and always have each others back.

Radiant Sigil

Ray is Aurora's pen pal. Aurora loves hearing about her friend's adventures and wishes they could find time to hang out in person (in pony?). However, it is probably best this way as Ray is terrible in person.
